number of bubbles should thus be set with due care.
• Check the number of bubbles regularly in the first few days, correc-
ting as necessary. After this initial period it is generally sufficient to
check the number of bubbles once a week.
Care and maintenance
7. Replacing the CO
cylinder
2
• Close cylinder valve.
• Let off any residual pressure in the Pressure Reducer by opening the
needle valve. Close needle valve. Caution: Tighten only gently!
• Unscrew pressure reducer from CO
cylinder and screw onto refilled
2
reusable CO
cylinder. Reset number of bubbles.
2
Special information: The needle valve is intended only for fine adjust-
ment of the number of bubbles. Always close the cylinder valve in order
to shut down the CO
supply for a prolonged period! Unscrew the pres-
2
sure reducer when the cylinder is to remain out of use for a prolonged
period.
8. Adjusting the operating pressure
of the Pressure Reducer
The operating pressure of the Exclusive Pressure Reducer is factory-set
to approx. 1 bar. In the first weeks of operation in particular, the ope-
rating pressure may alter slightly as a result of the washers working
loose. Adjusting the operating pressure.
• Remove protective cap

• To increase the pressure: Use a suitable
screwdriver to turn the operating pressu-

To reduce the pressure: Turn operating
pressure setting screw in clockwise
direction
9. Examining the special CO
check valve
2
The check valve protects your valuable Pressure Reducer from corrosion
caused by back-flowing water. It will operate reliably over a very long
period. However, as dust and metal particles may collect on the sealing
surfaces over the course of time, the check valve should be examined
every 2 years at the latest and replaced if necessary.
Examination procedure:
• Close needle valve on CO
Pressure Reducer.
2
• After 24 hours, unscrew the coupling ring on the side of the check
valve facing the pressure reducer.
• Pull off CO
hose and check whether any water has entered into the
2
hose. If so: Replace check valve. If not: Reconnect hose to check
valve.
• Reset number of bubbles.
Don't worry: An effectively functioning aquarium will normally have no
problem coping without a CO
supply for 24 hours.
2
Important note: Use only check valves designed for use with CO
as the Special CO
Check Valve from DENNERLE. Standard air

check valves may become brittle through contact with CO
within only

a short space of time, resulting in leaks. This usually goes unnoticed.

Professional tips from DENNERLE:
• Large quantities of valuable CO
may be lost every day through leaking
2
CO
hoses. We thus recommend the special Softflex CO
2
from DENNERLE.
• Even when using CO
diffusors with integrated bubble counter, it is
2
nevertheless expedient to install an additional bubble counter close to
the Pressure Reducer. This enables the number of bubbles to be set
even more simply, quickly and exactly.
The DENNERLE CO
Bubble Counter Exact offers the ultimate

correspond to a CO
