Precauciones de seguridad
La seguridad es la clave del diseño patentado único de la Ayuda para Sentarse Uplift. Aunque su
nuevo producto de Uplift está fabricado para ser lo más seguro posible, hay ciertas precauciones
que debe tomar:
1. Asegúrese que tiene algo a lo que sujetarse cuando se levante. La Ayuda para Sentarse Uplift
está diseñada para uso en sillas con apoyabrazos que ofrezcan una superficie de asiento ade-
cuadamente estable. Normalmente el Uplift también se puede usar en sillones blan-dos, sofás
o canapés. No se recomienda el uso del Uplift en sillas de ruedas, automóviles, sillones reclin-
ables o en si-llas de oficina con ruedas que no se pueden bloquear.
2. Asegúrese siempre que la silla sobre la que se va a usar el Uplift no se va a deslizar en el suelo.
Si tiene duda, apoye el respaldo de la silla contra una pared u otro objeto fijo.
3. Cuando se incline a recoger algo no ponga peso en los pies ya que esto activaría el Uplift.
Regulación de los ajustes de peso
1. Sitúese de pie en el lado opuesto a la manivela.
2. Desenganche la tira de Velcro alrededor de la manivela para abrir el Uplift.
3. Empuje hacia abajo sobre la parte acolchada de la superficie de asiento que lo flexiona hacia
afuera. Esto permite li-berar el pistón. (El cojín del Uplift está diseñado para flexionar de esta
manera miles de veces. Flexionarlo no daña el aparato.)
4. Seleccione un ajuste de peso. Centre la aguja del pistón entre las dos ranuras para ajustarlo al
peso apropiado del usuario. Asegúrese de que está encajado fijamente en el centro de las
ranuras de peso. (Los números impresos en el regulador de ajuste son sólo orientativos.
El ajuste que usted seleccione debe ser de acuerdo a la habilidad y al preferencia del usuario.
La elección de un ajuste flojo le permitirá un sentado suave en la silla pero no le facilitará
mucha fuerza para levantarse.) Cuando esté listo para levantarse, simplemente empiece a hac-
erlo como de costumbre inclinándose hacia adelante y empujando con sus manos y piernas.
El Uplift detectará que usted se está levantando y le dará un empuje lento y suave.

Sitting Down with Uplift
After adjusting the weight settings and placing the Uplift on your chair, sit down on the
flat part at the top of the Uplift. Uplift will ease you slowly and gently into your chair.
(Note: If your Uplift does not go down when you sit on it, re-adjust the weight setting
to a lower weight.)
Getting Up with Uplift
When you are ready to get up, simply start to get up like you normally would, by leaning
forward and pushing off with your arms and legs. Uplift will sense you are getting up and give
you a slow and gentle lift up.
Removable Covers
The Uplift Seat Assist is shipped with a
washable, waterproof black cover.
To put on the cover:
1. After adjusting the weight setting on your
Uplift, place it on a table with the open
end facing away from you.
2. Place the end of the cover with the tag
over the "back" or "top" of the Uplift
and pull it down and under the front edge
of the cushion.
Note that the back or top end of the cover is made wider than the front to ensure proper fit.
It is best to leave all or part of the tag on your cover so that it is easy to identify this back/top
end in the future.
Placement in the Chair
Generally, the Uplift should overhang the front of the chair
as shown. On chairs which are very deep and have sufficient
cushioning it is permissible to position the Uplift further
back. When using the Uplift, keep both hands on the arms
of the chair (or other suitable support).
Uplift should overhang as shown when used on a hard chair.
Caring for your Uplift
The surface of your Uplift Seat Assist cush-
ion is coated with a special fire retardant,
waterproof coating. The surface of the cush-
ion may be sponge cleaned with mild soap
or detergent. (Never totally immerse the
Uplift in water.) The removable cover is
made of a waterproof, polyester fabric and
can be machine washed and air dried.
Closing for Transport
Using the method for adjusting the weight
settings, allow the piston to swing below
the bottom setting.
Close the Uplift and wrap the Velcro
strip around the Velcro pad located on
the carrying handle.
Warranty
Warranty Provisions
Carex Health Brands guarantees that the
Uplift Seat Assist will be free from defects in
material and workmanship for two years
from the date of its original purchase.
The warranty does not cover damage due to
normal wear and tear, neglect or misuse, nor
is it transferable.
Please note that if you try to repair the
Uplift in anyway yourself, the warranty
becomes void.
