This can be done by using the test magnet and placing it close to the probe. The LED of the probe should light up. The probe of the Magnet-Ex 12 can then be placed near to a suspected magnetic field of, for example, a solenoid valve. -

LED becomes perceptibly darker while the sensor unit still works faultlessly. Use the test magnet, which is located in the cap of the housing of the Magnet-Ex 12, to check the brightness and the proper functioning of the LED. If the LED is becoming darker or does not light up at all, you have to replace the batteries (always outside the Ex-area). -
