Accumulator drainage

Proceed as follows for correct accumulator drainage:
1.
Close the collector inlet tap: KEEP THE OUTLET TAP OPEN and the highest hot water point in the installation (tank safety valve) in order to
purge and completely empty the system of hot water. In the event that the system is the highest point it is sufficient to loosen the secondary
safety valve removing the cover from the drainage outlets and rotating the safety valve for the secondary one full turn.
2.
Open the drain tap.
3.
The water drainage line should be OPEN. The installer should clearly identify it in the user manual.
4.
When the water ceases to come out, close the drain tap and the hot water tap or safety valve.
Warning: The temperature of the water exiting the taps/drainage line can be very high.
21.

Filling accumulator

1.
Open collector inlet tap.
2.
The safety valve should be loose so that it acts as a bleed.
3.
Open the tap for the highest hot water point in the installation so that the air stored in the conduits is drained.
22.
Changing heat transfer fluid
Warnings
The heat transfer fluid and primary circuit elements can be at a high temperature. They should only be operated when the collector temperature does
not constitute a hazard.
They should only be operated with the system covered or with low solar radiation (warnings on INSTALLATION).
22.1
Heat transfer fluid drainage
1.
Check that the purge line is open.
2.
Loosen the safety valve or the bleed tap so that the exterior air penetrates the circuit and the fluid drains correctly.
3.
Open the fill tap which will act as a drain tap.
4.
For thorough drainage you can inject air at 1 bar from the vent.
22.2
Filling heat transfer fluid
1.
Loosen the safety valve or manual vent so that the air inside the circuit is drained.
2.
Connect fill pump to fill valve.
3.
It is recommended that the fluid be recycled inside the fill pump (installer's) until the buoy is free of bubbles and has an intense/constant
colour (about 10 mins.). The safety valve is then close and the system is refilled at recommended operating pressure:
Load Pressure: 0.25 bar
4.
Uncover the photovoltaic cell and check that the pump is operating.
23.

Heat transfer fluid

The primary circuit leaves the factory filled with the correct amount of heat transfer fluid.
Manufacturer: LIV
Product: FRIGOSOL 50%
Description
Heat transfer fluid with anti-freeze and corrosion inhibitors for use in solar panels, specially prescribed for those exposed to high thermal loads.
