Hydraulic connections

Existing OKSOL-150 system connections are cold water inlet and outlet. It is recommended that inlet and outlet pipes are assembled via 'flared fittings'
to avoid pipe tension. Likewise the system should contain a tank and solar circuit drainage line. In accordance with CT and RITE these should be correctly
insulated and comply with installation regulations.
Network pressure and optimal work
Mains water connection is via safety valves included with the collector. Where necessary, mains water pipes shall be fitted with a filter. The safety valve
shall be able to withstand a pressure of 6 bar and 95ºC, this protects the system against pressure rises in the domestic hot water part. In turn, the safety
valve for the solar part must withstand a maximum pressure of 3 bar.
If the mains water piping has to withstand pressure in excess of 6 bar, a pressure reducing valve should be fitted.
Notwithstanding, ORKLI recommends installing a 3.5 bar pressure reducing valve, so that the system can operate optimally and thereby extend product
life.
Valves and stop cocks
Similarly stop cocks shall be provided at the entrance and exit of the collector to facilitate maintenance. The installer will place a bleed valve between
the inlet cut-off valve and the collector.
For proper drainage in the case of primary discharge of the circuit there will be a drain route as illustrated in the description of the system.
The anti-return valve that Orkli S. Coop. supplies with the system as shown in the 'System Description." drawing should be fitted.
If necessary, the water pipe network will have a filter.
In order to avoid overheating at the consumption points a mixer should be installed at the outlet of the collector.
Evacuation lines
Place the primary and secondary evacuation pipes independently. The primary evacuation (propylene glycol) will drain into a container out of the reach
of children or animals. In case of overheating in the tank (95 º C) the safety valve operates (see user manual pt. 7) Therefore the evacuation line of the
secondary must be properly channelled directly to the nearest drain keep it away from all danger
of burning people and animals. The pipeline will be at least the diameter of the valve.
To ensure that the drain line of tank is free of debris and the cover open it must be removed and the secondary valve released to drain some water.
Once the operation has been carried out close the valve and fit the cap.
Purge lines
Safety valves will be used to purge.

Primary and secondary circuit expansion tank installation
PRIMARY: A single absorber given its design will cater for 1.2 litres of
expansion.
For locations with elevated solar radiation and ambient temperature the
installer must install a closed expansion tank.
The expansion tank is installed via a three-way valve before the fill tap, in
order to allow free fluid dilation.
SECONDARY: Installation of closed expansion tank is optional.

Lightning protection

We recommend that a copper cable with a diameter of at least 16 mm2 should be used to connect to the lightning arrest system of the building.

System limits

Operating limits are set by the safety valves, which always act passively. Heat transfer fluid characteristics enable an operating range of -35 ºC - 140ºC
[at 3 bar].
