4.2.3 Hygienic cleaning and disinfection of the reusable secretion canister

1. Empty the reusable secretion canister and dispose of the aspirate properly.
2. Remove the sphere before performing the following cleaning instructions
(fig. 20(B)).

3. Rinse all components of the reusable secretion canister under running water.

4. Place all components of the reusable secretion canister in a water bath at
65°C temperature for 15 minutes once a day.
5. Afterwards, rinse the components thoroughly and let them dry.
6. Reinsert the sphere according to fig. 20.
Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG recommends to replace the canister
system after 12 months if it is used and cleaned/disinfected hygienically
frequently!

4.2.4 Hygienic cleaning and disinfection of the suction tube

1.
Dispose of the suction tube properly before the device is used by a new
patient!
2.
If the device is used for one patient only, rinse the suction tube with clear
water using the rinsing bottle after each aspiration and place it in a water
bath at 65°C temperature for 15 minutes once a day.
3.
Afterwards, rinse the suction tube thoroughly with clear water and let it
dry.
Even when the suction tube is used for one patient only,
Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG recommends to replace the suction
tube at least every 4 weeks since the material may become discolored and
brittle due to frequent applications!

4.2.5 Hygienic cleaning and disinfection of the rinsing bottle

1. Remove the lid of the rinsing bottle and rinse both parts under running
water.
2. Place the rinsing bottle and the lid in a water bath at 65°C temperature
for 15 minutes once a day.
3. Afterwards, rinse the components thoroughly and let them dry.
4. Place the lid back on the rinsing bottle.
Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG recommends to replace the rinsing
bottle every 4 weeks if it is used and disinfected frequently!

4.3 Further use of the device

The secretion aspirator Allegra M30 is suitable for further use.
However, prior to passing the device on to other patients resp. persons, it has
to be processed professionally. For this purpose, please hand the secretion
aspirator Allegra M30 over to Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG or
to qualified personnel authorized by Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG. In
this regard, please observe the indications in section 6.1!
4 Maintenance

4.4 Maintenance and service

Risk of impairments of performance due to aging
effects
Only use the device within its indicated service life of 5 years. If you
notice impaired performance or other problems, follow the instructions
on troubleshooting in section 5 and contact the service if necessary.
Risk due to maintenance and service during operation
Maintenance and service must not be performed while the device is in
use! The device must be switched off before maintenance and service
work are performed.
Risk due to the performance of maintenance and
service by unauthorized persons
Maintenance and service may only be performed by specialized
personnel authorized by Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG
or by Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG itself.
Risk due to the performance of maintenance and
service without sufficient documents
Maintenance and service may only be performed considering the
service instructions for the secretion aspirator Allegra M30.
Heinen + Löwenstein GmbH & Co. KG will also provide additional
documents on request, in case these can support the service staff.
