G Operating instructions
Ceiling-Mounted Motion Detector, 360°, 12 V/DC
Item no. 751559
Intended use
The ceiling-mounted motion detector's integrated PIR sensor responds to temperature
changes within the detection range, e.g., when a person enters the detection ran-
ge. Thus, the ceiling-mounted motion detector can be used for monitoring entrances,
staircases, etc.
The ceiling-mounted motion detector's design makes it particularly suitable for joint
use with alarm systems. The ceiling-mounted motion detector is powered direct cur-
rent of 12V battery. The ceiling-mounted motion detector's output can be used, for
example, for controlling an alarm input of a suitable alarm system.
The ceiling-mounted motion detector is only intended for use in dry interiors, it must
not get damp or wet.
Always observe the safety instructions included in these operating instructions. Ple-
ase read the operating instructions carefully and keep them.
Any use other than the one described above could lead to damage to this product and
present a hazard of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may
be modified or converted!
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All

Explanation of symbols, inscriptions
The lightning symbol inside a triangle is a warning to inform you of potential
risks of personal injury, such as electrical shock.
This symbol indicates specific risks associated with handling, function and
use.
The "arrow" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety instructions
D amage due to not following these operating instructions will void the
warranty! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
W e do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such
cases, the warranty will be null and void!
• Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allo-
wed for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• The product may be installed and used only in dry indoor spaces; it must
not get damp or wet!
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device
must be turned off and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not
used unintentionally. After this, arrange for an expert to check the pro-
duct.
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (where there is flicke-
ring light, leaking smoke or a smell of burning, audible crackling noises,
or discolouration of the product or to adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored for a longer period of time in unfavourable con-
ditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not use the product in rooms with adverse environmental conditions,
where combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There
is a risk of explosion!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, as it could be-
come a dangerous plaything for children.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating inst-
ructions, please contact our technical department or another specialist.
Function of the ceiling-mounted motion detector
The PIR sensor integrated in the ceiling-mounted motion detector responds to tem-
perature changes within the detection range, e.g., if a person or an animal, with a
temperature different from the background, enters the detection range.
The range for detecting motion is determined by several factors:
• The ceiling-mounted motion detector's installation height
• The temperature difference between the moving object and the background (am-
bient)
• The size of the object
• The distance of the object from the ceiling-mounted motion detector
• The direction and speed of movement
• Ambient temperature
The detection range can be restricted by covering the curved diffusion panel of the
ceiling-mounted motion detector with an opaque cover such as a strip of black insu-
lating tape.
After switching on the mains voltage, it takes about 2 minutes until the PIR sensor in
the ceiling-mounted motion detector has adjusted itself to the background tempera-
ture and is able to recognise changes in temperature within the detection range.
The opening angle of the ceiling-mounted motion detector is 113°. Depen-
ding on the mounting height, a correspondingly large cone-shaped detec-
tion range is created, in which heat changes can be detected.

Preparations for installation
Open the housing carefully, by inserting a flat
screwdriver between the two housing parts and
pushing them apart. The upper cover is clicked into
the bottom plate in three places of the housing. Do not
exert any force.
