8.0 Training

It is the responsibility of the user and the purchaser of this equipment to assure they are familiar with these instructions and are trained in
the proper use, installation, operation, maintenance and limitations of this product. Training should be conducted periodically and without
exposing the trainee to a fall hazard.
Training is an integral part of our Total Solution in fall protection, since no fall protection equipment – regardless of how effective – can save
an employee who is not trained in its use. To meet this crucial requirement, Miller Training provides the knowledge and skills necessary to

9.0 Inspection and Maintenance

Inspection
The Miller SkyORB Anchor System is designed for today's rugged work environments. To maintain its service life and high performance, all
system components should be inspected frequently. In addition to performing a thorough inspection upon completion of assembly/instal-
basis, at least annually. Replace equipment if any of the defective conditions explained in this manual are found.
Inspect entire system for any of the following: bent, cracked, distorted, worn, malfunctioning or damaged parts; loose fasteners or miss-
ing parts/components; deterioration; deformation; corrosion; signs that indicate the product has been subjected to a fall arrest; or any
other indications of damage/problems that may affect the integrity and operation of the product. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer.
Check all fasteners to ensure that they are present and securely fastened. When bolt assemblies are removed for disassembly or shipment,
replacement lock washers must ALWAYS be purchased before re-installation. Re-used lock washers may not retain bolts in place; therefore,
only new and unused lock washers should be installed.
Inspect the cable for cuts, frays, kinks, broken strands or other signs of unusual wearing patterns. [CAUTION: Always wear gloves
when inspecting wire rope!]
Inspect the shock absorbers for signs of activation, which would indicate that the system has seen fall arrest forces.
Ensure that product labels are present and legible.
Inspect the components of the personal fall arrest system according to the manufacturer's instructions.
If the system or any components within the system do not pass inspection or have been
subjected to fall arrest forces, the system must be taken out of service until the components in

Cleaning and Storage

Basic care of all Miller fall protection equipment will prolong the life of the unit and will contribute toward the performance of its vital safety
function. Periodically clean system components to remove any dirt, paint, corrosives, contaminants, or other materials that may have ac-
cumulated.
Servicing
Servicing of Miller fall protection equipment must only be carried out by Honeywell Safety Products or persons or entities authorized in writ-
ing by Honeywell. A record log of all servicing and inspection dates for this system must be maintained. Only original Miller replacement
