Note: We highly recommend that Window XP users install
Service Pack 3 due to enhancements and improved
functionality.
Installation on Windows XP x64-bit editions with Service
Pack 2
Preparation: Ensure that your user account on Windows
XP x64 Edition has administrator privileges, otherwise the
driver installation will not be successful.
You do not need to install any additional drivers, because
Windows XP x64-bit editions already include them.
Carefully insert the ExpressCard into the ExpressCard slot
and then start up Windows XP x64 Edition. After you have
started the operating system, the computer automatically
detects and installs the ExpressCard after a short time.
You can check whether the ExpressCard was installed
properly under Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and
Maintenance -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager.
The following entry should appear without a yellow
exclamation mark.
Universal serial bus controllers
• Generic USB hub
IEEE 1394 bus host controllers
• Texas Instruments OHCI-compliant IEEE 1394
host controller

Installation on Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4
Preparation: Ensure that your Windows 2000 user
account has administrator privileges, otherwise the driver
installation will not be successful.

Windows 2000 already includes them.
Carefully insert the ExpressCard into the ExpressCard slot
and then start up Windows 2000. After you have started the
operating system, the computer automatically detects and
installs the ExpressCard after a short time.
You can check whether the ExpressCard was installed
properly by selecting Start -> Settings -> Control Panel ->
System -> Hardware -> Device Manager. The following
entry should appear without a yellow exclamation mark.
