openings in the base plate (3). from the left or right. Lock it
using the locking lever (23).
The guide rail must not protrude over the edge of the
workpiece being sawn into.
Put the saw with the guide rail adapter (22) fitted on the
guide rail (24). Switch on the power tool and push it gently
in the cutting direction, guiding it evenly.
Mitre/bevel cuts up to 45° can be produced using the short
side of the Bosch (2 609 255 732) plastic guide rail.
Plunge cutting (see figure G)
Plunge cuts may only be applied to wood.
u
Plunge cutting is possible only with a mitre/bevel angle of 0°.
Place the power tool so that the rear edge of the base
plate (3) rests on the workpiece, without the saw blade (8)
touching the workpiece, and switch it on. When using power
tools with speed control, select the maximum speed. Press
the power tool firmly against the workpiece and allow the
saw blade to plunge slowly into the workpiece.
As soon as the base plate (3) rests fully on the workpiece,
continue sawing forwards along the required cutting line.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep
u
the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord
needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an
after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch
power tools.
Always clean the saw blade and saw blade receptacle
u
dry. Use a fine brush (see figure H) to remove more
deeply ingrained dirt.
The saw blade is maintenance-free. The chain of the saw
blade does not need to be oiled.
Clean the saw blade receptacle (16) regularly. To do this,
remove the saw blade from the power tool and gently tap out
the power tool on a flat surface.
If the power tool becomes very dirty, this can lead to serious
faults. For this reason, do not cut materials which generate
large quantities of dust from below or overhead.
In extreme conditions, always use a dust extractor if
u
possible. Blow out ventilation slots frequently and in-
stall a residual current device (RCD) upstream.
