Safety precautions

1. Always wear protective gear such as, helmet, knee-pads, elbow-pads, when riding your
electric bike in order to prevent any injury in case of an accident.
2. Before riding, always check if all components of the Bohlt X160 electric bike are in good
working order.
3. Do not ride on wet, icy and slippery roads.
4. Do not ride on roads with a slope over 15°
5. if you really need to ride under snowy or wet weather conditions, make sure that your speed
is low and keep a safe following distance in case you need to make an emergency stop.
6. We strongly recommend you to let children under the age of 12 not to ride the electric bike.
7. Avoid sudden acceleration and braking. Do not lean forward or backward while riding en ride
at a safe limited speed.
8. When the battery runs low while riding, keep a constant low speed and charge the battery as
soon as possible.
9. In case a fall is inevitable, always put your own safety first before that of your bike.
10. Always keep both hands on the handlebar while riding.
11. Do not store the electric bike in the trunk of your car in hot weather conditions.
12. It is your responsibility to know the traffic rules and obey them, before you start riding your
bike.
13. Always be aware of your surrounding and ride under controllable conditions.
14. Always keep a safe following distance when you are riding together with other people. Never
drive close next to each other.
15. Be cautious when lighting conditions are poor, lower your speed or stroll your bike.
16. Do not ride backwards and do not ride in a way that can endanger yourself or other persons
while riding.
17. Do not let this electric bike be used by persons who are not familiar with the manual.
18. Do not ride this bike if you don't feel well, when you have taken drugs or consumed alcohol.
19. Accelerate moderately while riding, sudden acceleration can cause you to become out of
balance which can cause personal injuries.
20. Before using the bike, check if the brakes are in proper working condition.
21. Do not lift the bike by the tries, this could cause your fingers to get caught between the tires
and the frame.
22. The left brake handle controls the brake of the front wheel, while the right brake handle
controls the brake of the rear wheel.
23. Always obey local regulations regarding your bike while riding on public roads (lighting,
reflectors, etc.).
24. This pedal-assisted electric bike is driven by hybrid power of an electric motor and human
force. The electric motor will start up as soon as the chain set is turned by pedalling a ¾
circle. Please avoid moving the chain set when holding the bike.
