Operation

This power tool is supplied from single-phase alternat-
ing current mains only. It is double insulated according
to EN 60745-1 and IEC 60745 and can be connected to
grounded or not grounded sockets. This power tool is ra-
dio suppressed in compliance with EMC Directive.
This power tool is designed for impact drilling in steel,
wood, plastics, etc. The provided impact-rotary opera-
tion mode ensures drilling openings in concrete, stone,
masonry and various brittle materials. The model with
variable speed and reversing is also suitable for screw-
driving and thread-cutting.
PRIOR TO INITIAL OPERATION
▪ Make sure the power supply voltage corresponds to
the value indicated on the name plate with technical
data of the tool.
▪ Always check the position of ON/OFF switch. The
power tool must be connected to the power supply
socket only when this switch is in OFF position. If the
plug is connected to a receptacle while the power
switch is in the ON position, the power tool will start
operating immediately, which could cause a serious
accident.
▪ Make sure that the cord and the plug are in order. If the
replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has
to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order
to avoid a safety hazard.
WARNING: Always switch off and unplug the
power tool prior to any adjustment, servicing or main-
tenance.
▪ In case the work area is remote from the power
source, use as short as practicable extension cord
with proper cross-section.
▪ Check that the auxiliary handle is properly mounted
and reliably tightened.
WARNING: Prior to operation always check
the direction of rotation. Shift the reversing switch
only when the spindle has come to a complete stop.
Reversing prior to final spindle halt may damage the
power tool.
SWITCHING ON - SWITCHING OFF
Brief activation
▪ Switching on: Press ON/OFF switch 11. (Fig. 1)
▪ Switching off: Release ON/OFF switch 11.
Original instructions
Continuous operation
▪ Switching on: Press ON/OFF switch 11 and in
pressed position lock it by button 12. (Fig. 2)
▪ Switching off: Press ON/OFF switch 11 once and
release it immediately.
INSERTING AND FASTENING DRILL BITS
(FIG. 3)
Grip rear collar of keyless chuck and rotate front collar
until chuck is opened sufficiently for the tool to be in-
serted. Grip rear collar and manually rotate front collar
until tight. An audible "click" indicates that the chuck has
automatically locked.
WARNING: Do not use drill bits with diam-
eters exceeding those specified on the name plate;
otherwise the drill will be overloaded.
REMOVING THE CHUCK
Grip the rear collar of keyless chuck 2 and rotate its front
collar until the chuck is opened (Fig. 4a). By means of
a screwdriver unwind the left-treaded securing screw 1
(Fig. 4b). Insert an Allen key or a screwdriver bit into the
chuck and clamp its free end in appropriate way. Position
a spanner on the drill journal 3 and rotate it in counter-
clockwise direction (Fig. 4c).
TWO-SPEED SELECTOR SWITCH
Rotate switch 13 to 180° clockwise or counter-clockwise,
in order to select one or the other speed range (Fig. 5).
STEPLESS ELECTRONIC RPM CONTROL
Light pressure on ON/OFF switch 11 results in low rota-
tion speed, further pressing the switch results in smooth
increase of the rpm to maximum upon reaching the ex-
treme position. (Fig. 6)
SELECTION OF RPM VALUE
The necessary speed can be pre-selected by rotating
the regulator dial 10. Select minimum rpm by setting the
dial to position "A"; select maximum rpm by setting the
dial to position "F" (Fig. 7), thus ensuring the optimum
mode for drilling in different materials - metal, wood, plas-
tics, etc.
REVERSING
The extreme position of lever 9 to the right (Fig. 8a) is
equivalent to clockwise rotation, the extreme position to
the left - to counter-clockwise rotation (Fig. 8b).
The arrow marks on both sides of the switch 11 signify:
"screwing" - right run (the switch lever 9 to the right) and
"unscrewing" - left run (the switch lever 9 to the left).
When the ON/OFF switch 11 is depressed, lever 9 can
not be actuated. Reversing shall be performed only
when the spindle is not rotating!
During operation with anti-clock rotation (left direction)
the switch trigger has limited run and the machine can
operate with revolutions from position "A" to "E" of the
electronic regulator 10. The lock-on button 12 can oper-
ate only if the electronic regulator 10 is up to "E" position.
