5.3 Cleaning the exhaust filter

ATTENTION:
The filter is washable, but it may not be cleaned in dishwashers or wash-
ing machines. Also, do not use detergents or brushes with hard bristles
to clean the filter. Let the filter dry for approx. 24 hours at room tempera-
ture after washing it. Only put it back in place when it is completely dry.

11. Put the filter screen onto the bottom side of the cover in such a way that
the tab engages the notch next to the spring (Fig. 13/A1) as shown.
12. Turn the filter screen securely in the 'LOCK' direction (Fig. 13/A). You
will feel and hear the filter screen snap into place.
NOTE:
If you also have a filter fleece (optional), slide the filter fleece back onto
the filter screen until it completely covers its mesh.
13. Put the cover back onto the dust container. Make sure when replacing it
that the arrow on the cover is exactly above the 'open' marking on the dust
container. Fix the cover by twisting it in the 'close' direction (Fig. 13/B).
14. Place the dust container back into its holder and close the housing cov-
er. The release buttons must click shut audibly. Check that the housing
cover is fitted securely.
It is best to clean the exhaust filter every third time that the central la-
mellae filter is cleaned.
However, clean the exhaust filter at least every six months.
1. Switch off the appliance, ZChapter 4.3, "Switching off".
2. Push the release catch of the exhaust filter cover down (Fig. 14/A) and
open out the exhaust filter cover.
3. Remove the exhaust filter (Fig. 14/B).
4. Tap the dirt out of the exhaust filter over a dustbin.
5. Should this be insufficient, clean the the filter with a soft brush, e. g. the
furniture brush supplied with the appliance.
6. If this dry cleaning is still insufficient, then rinse the filter in clear cold
water.
7. If the exhaust filter is damaged, replace it (order information ZChapter
5.4, "Spare parts and accessories").
8. Place the clean/new exhaust filter back into its receptacle (Fig. 14/B).
9. Fit the exhaust filter cover on the bottom side first (Fig. 14/A) and then
hinge it upwards.
