Check the chin strap:
Use both hands to try to pull the helmet to the back and front as far as possible. Try as hard as you
can. That is important. If you can move the helmet in one direction or move it forward enough that
it affects your field of vision or so far back that your forehead is exposed, the helmet is not fitted
properly. Repeat points 2-5 until helmet movement is low.
ATTENTION! If you can't adjust the helmet so that it can't slide forward or backward with the
straps closed, DO NOT USE THE HELMET! Replace it with a smaller or different model from
the CASCO range.
Carry out a test ride.
If the helmet fits properly and the chin strap is adjusted correctly, carry out a short test ride. Note
the wearing comfort and the fit of the helmet as you ride. If necessary, adjust the straps again to
improve the comfort and positioning.
B: INTERIOR EQUIPMENT/ACCESSORIES
If you have a helmet with change equipment (change pin), carefully unscrew it for replacement (Fig. 4a).
For other winter equipment and accessories, please note the enclosed special instructions.
If your helmet has attachments on the lower edge, winter ear caps can be clipped on here. (Fig. 4b)
If your helmet has snap fasteners on the underside of the visor (Fig. 5a+b), CASCO EQUESTRIANmask
can be attached. Simply clip the frame of the EQUESTRIANmask into the four snap fasteners on the
helmet (Fig. 5c). Before use, check that the EQUESTRIANmasks have been correctly inserted into the
snap fasteners (Fig. 5d). To remove the EQUESTRIANmasks, carefully remove them from one side, and
then from the other side (Fig. 5e).
Certain CASCO bicycle helmets are equipped with CASCO MyStyle stripes . The CASCO MyStyle stripes
can be replaced as shown in Fig. 6.
C: SERVICE LIFE
The maximum service life with proper storage (see E.) and without use is 8 years from the date of
production (see sticker in the helmet). For safety reasons and depending on the intensity of use,
equestrian helmets should be replaced 3-5 years after their first use. The helmet is designed so that
on impact, some of the force will be dampened by the partial destruction of the helmet shell, or the
safety padding, or both. This damage may not be visible, and so the helmet should be discarded
after impact and replaced with a new one.
This also applies if the helmet no longer fits properly. The helmet should also be replaced after expiry
of the recommended service life, even without visible damage.
CHECK YOUR HELMET FOR VISIBLE DEFECTS REGULARLY!
D: CHANGES TO THE HELMET, CLEANING
This helmet has been tested and approved according to the relevant standards in series production.
ATTENTION: Changes to the helmet, particularly the application of paints, stickers, deter-
gents, chemicals and solvents can seriously affect the safety of your helmet.
Use only materials, accessories or spare parts which are approved by us.
Clean your helmet with CASCO Helmet Cleaner or using water, mild soap and a soft cloth. Use
CASCO Helmet Refresher to disinfect/refresh the interior.
E: STORAGE
Air dry your helmet after each use and store it in a cool, dry place. High temperatures (including
in direct sunlight, behind glass, in dark bags and luggage compartments) can seriously damage
the helmet. Uneven helmet surfaces and blistering are signs of heat damage. These can occur at
temperatures of 50˚C and over. CASCO helmets which also have a "Monocoque inmold" are heat
resistant up to 100˚C.
For protected storage and transportation, we recommend the CASCO Softbox.
