Thank you for choosing a CASCO helmet. Equestrian helmets are personal protective equipment
(PPE category 2: Standard protection against mechanical risks) and help to prevent, or at least
significantly reduce, the risk of head injuries caused by riding accidents. Please take time to read
the following information and to adjust your helmet. This is for your safety and maximum comfort.

Helmet for horse riding
A: HELMET FITTING
Your helmet may move around on your head as you ride. Adjust the strap to make sure that the
helmet is firmly in place when riding. It must be ensured that the helmet can only move slightly from
front to back, and from right to left.
1. Selecting the right helmet size
A CASCO helmet can only protect you if it fits properly. Choosing a helmet of the right size and fit is
therefore essential. Measure the circumference of your head at the widest point and then select the
appropriate helmet size. In particular, it must be ensured that children's helmets are the right size.
Helmets which are too large, which children have to grow into, can considerably reduce the protec-
tive effect. The helmet must feel safe and comfortable on the head. If fitted properly, this helmet is
designed to remain on the head in the event of an accident. Please use the built-in size adjustment
system to further improve the fit.
2. Adjusting the size adjustment system
A good fit is a prerequisite for the best possible protection. CASCO equestrian helmets can therefore
be adjusted in size. Adjustments can be made to the head ring for your head size using the twist
fastener located by the neck. Turning to the left opens or loosens the head ring. Turning clockwise
or to the right gradually tightens the head ring (Fig. 1a or 1b). In addition, in models with a DISK-FIT
VARIO SYSTEM, the height of the head band can be adjusted (Fig. 1c), and its position in the helmet
can be altered (Fig. 1d).
3. The correct helmet position
Always put on your helmet horizontally so that your forehead is protected but your vision is not
impaired. In addition, your helmet should not be positioned on the back of your head (Fig. 2).
4. Chin strap
Your CASCO helmet has a belt adjustment system (Fig. 3a) with a buckle (Fig. 3b)
Fasten the buckle, and then tighten the chin strap using the free end of the strap. To open the
buckle, press the two pins together (Fig. 3c).
5. Strap adjustment
Your helmet has a comfort strap (tightly-sewn under the ears), so you do not have to adjust the
sides.
6. Check the fit and the chin strap
Before using the helmet, check that it is in the right position, and that the chin strap is tight enough.
Check the fit:
Use both hands to try to turn the helmet to the left and right. If the helmet fits correctly, your skin moves
with the helmet on the forehead; if it does not do this, the helmet is too loose. Go back to point 2.
