INSTALLATION
You can connect the Sound Unit
Power Storage to a Sound Unit or to
a factory-installed locomotive sound
circuit board (sticker "Analog+
Digital" underneath the loco gear-
box). Refer to the instructions for the
loco or the Sound Unit to see
whether the Sound Unit Power
Storage can be installed.
Connecting to LGB Sound Units
(65000, 65001, 65002, 65003,
65004):
Connect the Sound Unit Power
Storage to the three-pole socket next
to the track power terminal. The
cable must face up.
Connecting to LGB loco sound
(sticker "Analog+Digital"):
Connect the Sound Unit Power
Storage to the three-pole socket on
the sound circuit board. This socket
is located next to the four-pole
connection to the main circuit board.
The cable must face outward.
Attention! Mount the Sound Unit
Power Storage securely. Make sure it
will not touch connectors or other
electronic components. Otherwise,
short circuits may damage the com-
ponents.
Attention! The Sound Unit Power
Storage should be connected only to
a Sound Unit or a factory-installed
loco sound using the provided
connectors. If the Sound Unit Power
Storage is connected to other elec-
tronic components, these compo-
nents or the Sound Unit Power
Storage itself can be destroyed by
the large amount of energy stored in
the unit.
FUNCTION
When the throttle is turned up, the
Sound Unit Power Storage is rechar-
ged automatically. When track power
6
is turned off, the Sound Unit Power
Storage returns the energy to the
sound circuit. The standing sounds
are played.
Hint: If this product is not used for a
long time, its capacitors will dischar-
ge, and the sound system will opera-
te erratically. To recharge the capaci-
tors, operate the connected loco at
brisk speed for about 30 seconds.
Power Supply
Attention! For safety and reliability,
operate this product with LGB power
supplies (transformers, power packs
and controls) only. The use of non-
LGB power supplies will void your
warranty.
Use this product with LGB power
supplies with an output of at least 1
amp. For more information on LGB
power supplies for indoor, outdoor
and multi-train operation, see the
LGB catalog.
Multi-Train System
Attention! With the 65011 Sound
Unit Power Storage installed, it can
be difficult to program or read deco-
der settings. If this occurs, dis-
connect the Sound Unit Power
Storage or switch off the loco sound
using the power control switch, if
possible. If this is not possible, make
sure the Sound Unit Power Storage
is fully charged before you start pro-
gramming.
Attention! Dispose of electronic
components properly.
