Synchronisation with the DCF time is done automatically daily at
00:00 and 45 seconds, 03:00 and 45 seconds, 06:00 and 45 seconds
and at 12:00 and 45 seconds. This is sufficient to keep the time
accurate to within one second per day.
The DCF radio time signal is sent from a transmitter in Mainflingen
(near Frankfurt am Main, Germany). It has a range of up to 1500 km,
increasing to 2000 km in ideal reception conditions. The DCF
signal contains information such as the exact time and date (with
a theoretical time deviation of one second every million years).
There is no need to set the summer and winter time manually. The
S symbol is displayed when the weather station receives a signal
for daylight saving time (summer time). It disappears when the time
signal received from the transmitter changes again.
Settings
The time/date/alarm setting process will be interrupted if you do not press any
buttons for approx. 2 minutes. The weather station then reverts to the normal
display.
Hold down the UP button (8) or DOWN button (9) to move through the digits faster.
a) Manual time and date setting
You only need to set the time and date manually if the weather station is used
outside of the DCF reception area, in a time zone other than the German time zone
or when the DCF reception is impaired due to the surroundings.
• Press and hold the SET button (5) until the year setting blinks.
• Press the UP button (8) or DOWN button (9) to change the setting. Confirm your selection
with the SET button (5). The month flashes.
• Repeat this process in the same way for the entire setting sequence: Month, day, date format,
12/24 hour clock, hours, minutes.
• Confirm the last setting using the SET button (5). The weather station then reverts to the
normal display.
b) Selecting the temperature unit
• Press the SET button (5) quickly to change the temperature unit (°C or °F) on the weather
station.
c) Measured values outside of the measurement range
is displayed when the current measured value is outside the measurement range.
d) Air pressure trend display
• The trend indicator shows the air pressure trend. Pointer up=air pressure rising, pointer
horizontal=air pressure remaining the same, pointer down=air pressure falling.
