18. Caution! Only the plug intended for the
appliance may be used!
19. This device may be used by children 8 years
of age or above, or by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capacities or
lack of experience and/or knowledge, only if
they have been supervised or instructed in
the safe use of the device and can
understand the hazards arising therefrom.
Children must never be allowed to play with
the device. Cleaning and user maintenance
must never be performed by children unless
they are aged 8 years or over and
supervised by an adult.
Children younger than 8 years of age are to
be kept away from the device and the
connection cable.
20. Operation of the device using external time
switches or separate remote control
systems is forbidden!
21. Do not use the appliance outdoors or for
commercial purposes.
22. Do not place the appliance on (or in the
vicinity of) hot gas or electric stoves, or in
heated ovens.
23. Never use the device in a vertical position.
This position is only suitable for storing the
appliance.
24. ATTENTION: Never over-fill the device!
Make sure that the container is only
filled up to the top edge, especially in
the case of eggs and liquid ingredients.
When preparing eggs, we recommend
working with the Livington FlipSwitch
while it is open, and only closing the
appliance when the food needs to be
turned.
NOTE:
➔ Some smoke may be emitted by the appliance the first time it is
used.
➔ Remove any packaging remnants, then clean the housing of the
Livington FlipSwitch with a damp cloth.
➔ Only ever clean the baking and grill plates with a damp cloth or a

soft sponge. The Livington FlipSwitch offers easy cleaning thanks
to the Lotus beading effect.
➔ Grease the baking and grill plates once before using them for the
very first time. After this, there is no need to re-grease them,
thanks to the non-stick coating.
USE
1. To preheat the Livington FlipSwitch, insert the plug into the socket. The
red control lamp lights up. Before each use, the Livington FlipSwitch
needs to be preheated until the green control lamp turns on.
WARNING: The device is now becoming hot. As soon as the green
indicator light switches on, the Livington FlipSwitch is ready for use.
2. Open the Livington FlipSwitch.
3. Place the food you have prepared for baking, grilling, etc. in the
Livington FlipSwitch.
Tip: You can butter slices of toast on the outside and inside to achieve
a nice golden brown color.
4. Now close the Livington FlipSwitch, grasp the handle, and snap the
safety clip into place. Make sure that the handle lock engages.
5. Leave your food in the Livington FlipSwitch for 3 to 5 minutes,
depending on the desired colouration. You can open up the Livington
FlipSwitch to see if your meal is ready at any time. Depending on the
bread or ingredients, the preparation time can be according to your
personal taste.
Note: The light glows green when the operating temperature is
reached.
6. When your meal is ready, carefully remove it using wooden or plastic
cutlery, but not metal utensils.
CHANGING/REMOVING INSERTS
ALWAYS unplug the power cord from the outlet and allow the grill unit to
cool before removing the inserts.
Open the Livington FlipSwitch, and locate the release buttons on the
front of the device. Press firmly on the button so that the inserts easily
disengage from the base. Grasp the release button on the other inserts
to remove them without a risk of damage.
PROBLEM / CAUSE
Food is becoming too dark
The food has been cooked for too long
The appliance handle does not engage
The layer of food inside is too thick
CLEANING
Never clean the baking and grill plates with abrasive scouring agents or
scouring pads, to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. Never immerse
the Livington FlipSwitch in water or other liquids; also, never wash it
under running water.
1. Do not use any metal objects or abrasive utensils.
2. Pull the mains plug from the Livington FlipSwitch and disconnect it
from the mains.
3. Leave the Livington FlipSwitch open to allow it to cool down.
4. Remove stubborn food residues like burnt cheese from your
