7.8.1 Installation of Temperature Sensor TF-500
!
CAUTION!
1. NEVER insert or remove the Temperature Sensor Plug (14B, Fig 3) when the
charger is in ON condition – the unit may get damaged! For complete safety,
first unplug the power cord of the charger from the AC outlet and then insert or
remove the Temperature Sensor Plug (14B, Fig 3)
2. Please ensure that the plug (14B, Fig 3) is inserted fully into the Temperature
Sensor Jack marked "TS" (4, Fig 3). Partially inserted plug may also result in dam-
age to the unit!
- Attach the adhesive backed Temperature Sensor Element (14A, Fig 3) on appropriate
location on the battery container. Please note the following requirements for mounting
the sensor element for proper heat transfer from the cells /electrolyte to the sensor:
• The inner surface of the battery container behind the external surface under the
mounting location should be in contact with the electrolyte. Mount on one of the
sides in an area that is below the level of the electrolyte. Do not mount on the top
surface of the container
• Ensure that the container surface is absolutely flat to ensure flush contact and proper
heat transfer. Remove any grease / dirt / dust and dry the surface thoroughly to
ensure strong adhesive bonding
- Insert Plug (14B, Fig 3) fully into the Temperature Sensor Jack marked "TS" (4, Fig 3)
