You can search for, select and play files by name.
< If a file name uses Japanese, Chinese or other double-byte
characters, "
" is displayed and the search function will
not work accurately.
Search for the name of a file

Press the MP3 button during playback or when stopped.
The SEARCH indicator blinks, and the first letter of the file name,
the file name and the file number are shown.

< Press the Stop button (H) to exit search mode. (This also stops
playback when playing.)
Pressing the MP3 button twice also exits search mode (and stops
playback when playing).
< "
" appears when there is no information.

Select the first letter of the file you want to hear by
pressing the SKIP buttons ( . / / ).
< Press / to search forward from A to Z and then 0 to 9, and
press . to search backward from 9 to 0 and then Z to A.

When you reach the letter that is the first letter of the file
that you want to hear, press and hold a SKIP button
(.//) until the first letter blinks.
Hold down

Press the SKIP buttons (.//) to search through the
files that start with the selected letter until you find the
file that you want to play.
< To return to selection of the first letter (as shown in the
illustration in step
1
), press and hold a SKIP (. or /)
button.

Press the PLAY/PAUSE button ( G / J ).
Playback starts from the selected file.
