Before you start the electric router, check to
ensure that the cutting tool is secure and runs
smoothly.
Change the cutter: Pull the mains plug and wait
until the cutter reaches a complete standstill.
Now press the spindle lock (7). Undo the clamp
nut (8) using the wrench (15). Now take the
clamp and cutter out of the cutting spindle.
Important: The cutter may have become hot
during the routing work. You can now fit a new
cutter.
5.4 Adjusting the cutting depth (Figures 8/ 9)
The cutting depth is the distance between the
adjustable depth stop and the depth rule. The
adjustable depth stop enables you to set three
stop positions for the cutting depth.
Use one of these two methods:
Make the adjustment using a piece of wood:
Fit the cutting tool. Undo the wing screw (5) on
the depth stop (4). Pull the locking lever (11) up
and press the cutting tool down with the handles
(3) until it touches the workpiece. Secure this set-
ting by fastening the locking lever (11). Raise the
depth rule (4). Place a piece of wood between
the depth stop (6) and depth rule (4). Tighten the
wing screw (5) again and release the locking
lever (11) to move the router back to its previous
position. The cutting depth is now set.
Scaling: Fit the cutting tool. Undo the wing screw
(5) on the depth stop (4). Undo the locking lever
(11). Press the cutting tool down with the handles
(3) until it touches the workpiece. Secure this set-
ting by fastening the locking lever (11). The start
position is now shown on the depth scale (a).
Example A:
Scale display:
20 mm
Adjustment:
10 mm
Correct scale adjustment:
30 mm
Example B:
Scale display:
38 mm
Required cutting depth:
6 mm
Correct scale adjustment:
44 mm
Now move the depth rule (4) to the calculated value
and secure the rule with the wing screw (5). Release
the locking lever (11) to move the router back to its
previous position.
To make fine adjustments to the cutting depth:
Undo the center screw (b) on the depth stop (6).

Please note that all three screws can be adju-
sted; this means that you can use different cut-
ting depths on the same workpiece.
5.5 Setting the speed (Figure 10)
The best speed depends on the material and the
diameter of the cutter. Select a speed between
11,000 and 28,000 rpm using the speed control
switch (12). You can choose from 6 different
switch positions.
Switch position 1: Minimum speed
Switch position 6: Maximum speed
Please note: Switch the tool off before changing
the speed setting.
6. OPERATION

6.1 Special safety instructions

Never use a low quality or damaged cutter. Use
only cutting tools with a shaft diameter of 6 mm
or 8 mm. The cutters must also be designed for a
speed range of over 28,000 rpm.
Secure the workpiece so that it cannot be thrown
through the air as you work on it. Use clamps or
a vise.
Always guide the power cable away from the
back of the tool.
Never cut over metal parts, screws, nails etc.
6.2 Operating the tool (Figures 11 / 12)
To avoid damage to the router, make sure there
are no foreign objects attached to the workpiece.
First fit a cutting tool in the tool. The following
sections describe how other accessories can be
fitted to the router and for what jobs you can use
them.
Connect the mains plug to a suitable socket.
Hold the tool using both of its handles (3).
Place the router on the workpiece.
6.3 Switching on the tool
Press the locking button (1) with your thumb. At the
same time press the ON/OFF switch (2). The router
will start. The router will continue to operate for as
long as you hold down the ON/OFF switch (2). The
locking button (1) remains depressed automatically
