5. PREPARATION

5.1 Fitting the depth rule (Figure 4)
Make this setting before using the router.
Insert the depth rule (4).
Position the hexagonal nut (a) on the depth rule
holder.
Adjust the hexagonal nut (a) to the height of the
thread. Tighten the wing screw (5).

5.2 Vacuum cleaner connector (Figure 5 / 6)
Connect your router to a domestic vacuum clea-
ner or a dust extractor using the vacuum cleaner
connector (17). This will provide excellent dust
extraction on the workpiece. The benefits are
that you will protect both the tool and your own
health. Your work area will also be cleaner and
safer.
Dust created when working may be dangerous.
Refer to the section entitled "Safety instructions".
The vacuum cleaner you use for the extraction
work must be suitable for the workpiece material.
Use a special vacuum cleaner if you are handling
harmful materials.
Special regulations apply for extraction equip-
ment if you are using the tool for commercial pur-
poses. Discuss the requirements with your pro-
fessional association if necessary.
Place the suction port (17) on the base plate (9);
the port should be fitted on the rear of the tool
pointing upwards. The screw holes in the suction
port (17) must line up with the screw holes in the
base plate (9).
Secure the suction port (17) using the two long
screws (a) and the nuts to match (b).

5.3 Fitting the cutters (Figure 7)

may be fitted to this router. Most cutters are avai-

You can used cutters made of the following

HSS – suitable for cutting softwood
TCT – suitable for cutting hardwood,
particle board, plastic and aluminum.

Select the appropriate cutting tool for the job in
hand.
When using the cutters for the first time:
Remove the plastic packaging from the cutter
heads.
Clean the nut, clamp and shaft of the cutter befo-
re fitting it.
Select the appropriate clamp for the cutter. Guide
the cutter shaft into the clamp.
Press the spindle lock (7); you may have to turn
the spindle a little to engage it. Now fit the clamp
and nut into the cutting spindle.
Press and hold the spindle lock (7). Tighten the
clamp nut (8) using the wrench (15).
The cutter must project out of the nut by at
least 3 mm.
