PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Figure 1 illustrates the 3M™ Protecta® Tie-Off Adapters and Anchorage Extender.
Type 1 is a cable Tie-Off Adapter. Type 2 is a twin-ring cable Tie-Off Adapter. Type 3 is a twin-ring cable Tie-Off Adapter that
contains a flemish eye splice. Type 4 is a web Tie-Off Adapter. Type 1, 2, 3, and 4 are all types of single point Tie-Off Adapters
that are designed to be secured around a structural beam or support. Tie-Off Adapters may be used as anchorage connectors for
a horizontal lifeline if the system is designed, installed, and used under the supervision of a Qualified Person.
Type 5 is an Anchorage Extender and is only to be used to attach onto an existing anchorage connection point. Type 5 is not
designed to wrap around a structure.
Figure 2 illustrates components of the Tie-Off Adapters and the Anchorage Extender. See Table 1 for Component Specifications
and Connector Specifications. The Tie-Off Adapters and Anchorage Extender are comprised of either a Cable Lifeline (A) or a
Web Lifeline (B). The Tie-Off Adapter is secured about a structural beam or support with the action of its end connectors. End
connector options include Snap Hooks (F), O-Ring Connectors (C), Carabiners (D), and D-Rings (E).

Anchorage strength must comply with Section 2.1 requirements.

If the user is unable to determine whether the anchorage meets these requirements, then the user should either
seek a Qualified Person or professional engineer who is able to do so or contact 3M Technical Services.

See the front cover of these instructions for applicable standards. Models certified to ANSI Z359.18-2017 have also been
tested in compliance with the requirements of ANSI Z359.7.

to which the product is attached.
