Using Your Thermophore Classic Plus™
The MoisturePlus!™ cover allows you to safely add extra moisture
when necessary because of extremely dry atmospheric situations.
Many modern homes are so well insulated and sealed so tightly
that heating and cooling systems can remove much of the normal
moisture. Many areas simply have very dry climates. The cover
will absorb moisture from the air naturally, but if more moisture
is needed or desired, the steps below will show you how to safely
add a damp cloth.
1.
1. Start by laying the MoisturePlus!™ cover out flat and smooth.
This type of cover is sometimes called a "stupe" cover (sounds like
"stoop"), since it allows you to add moisture, if needed, without
getting the fabric of the heat pack wet. Either side can be "Up".
2. Slide the Thermophore
the cover, under the white nylon layer. Make sure the heat pack is
kept smooth and flat inside the cover.
3. Slightly dampen a cloth or towel (a fleece square is included for
your convenience) and squeeze out the excess moisture. Slide the
damp cloth into the top section of the cover, over the white nylon
layer. The nylon layer is necessary to protect your heating unit
from becoming damp. The cloth should not be wet, just damp. It
does not need to fill the entire area of the vinyl pocket, but should
be flat and smooth.
It is very important to keep the heating unit flat inside the cover.
Folded or overlapping areas of the heating unit could intensify the
heat. This could damage the unit, burn the user or cause a fire.
Feel inside the cover with your hand to make sure the heating unit
is flat and wrinkle-free. Before each use, check the heating unit to
be sure it has remained flat inside the cover.
