8.1 Function

The Safety Relay EduTrainer
Various circuit breakers can be connected to the device and various protective circuits can be implemented.
Two input circuits are available for 1- and 2-channel circuits. The circuit can be implemented with or without
detection of shorts across contacts. The existing starting circuit can be configured for manual or automatic
start and also serves as a feedback circuit for external contactors.
Three force-guided safety relay contacts (normally open) are available on the output side. An auxiliary relay
contact (normally closed) and a semiconductor output are also integrated.
Different operating modes can be selected via a rotary switch mounted on the safety relay. The built-in LEDs
indicate the status of the safety relay unit.
Electric shock may cause potentially lethal injuries.
Only power sources with safety extra-low voltage (SELV) or protective extra-low voltage
with safe isolation (PELV) are allowed to be connected.
Only power supplies with limited power (<=100 VA) are allowed.
This device is not a safety device as defined by the EC Machinery Directive. It is only
permitted for use in didactic training aids.
Operate the device in a vertical position on a table or A4 rack.
