Maintenance and Warnings
1.1
To clean, wipe all surfaces with a clean damp towel. Do not spray any liquids on the Monitor as it may result in electrical
shock and damage the Monitor.
1.2
Use caution when handling the glass lamp. If the lamp is cracked or broken, disconnect the power to avoid risk of
electrical shock. Use proper gloves to handle broken glass. Gather the lamp components and broken glass pieces, place
in a sealed container, close tightly and discard according to regulations in your area. Thoroughly wipe all surfaces
clean with a disposable towel.
1.3
WARNING! Exposure to rays from the germicidal lamp may be harmful to eyes and skin. Do not view lamp while
fully energized.
The filaments of the Hyper-Germicidal Lamp should glow whenever the cord set is plugged in – even while the door is
open. This is NOT HARMFUL TO USERS! The special ballast is designed to keep the filaments warm at all times
to extend the life of the lamp.
1.4
WARNING! Never substitute any other ballast. Other ballasts may result in faulty operation and possible over-expo
sure to ultra-violet (UV) radiation. Contact Sellstrom for any replacement parts.
1.5
If the door is opened while the timer is on, the door interlocks will interrupt the circuit and the lamp will turn off. DO NOT
BYPASS THE DOOR INTERLOCKS.
Caution: If the lamp does not turn off when the door is opened, disconnect the Monitor from the power source,
remove from service immediately, and contact Sellstrom.
1.6
A quick acting 10-Amp fuse has been included in the design for your protection against accidental electrical overloads. If
for any reason the unit fails to operate, remove from service and contact Sellstrom.
