Connect the electric tool to the mains power sup-
ply (230V~) using a socket with an earthing
contact and a fuse with a maximum rating of 16
A. We recommend that you fit a residual-current
circuit-breaker (RCCB) with a maximum nominal
tripping current of 30 mA. Seek the advice of
your electrician.
Make sure that no moving tool parts come into
contact with the mains connection.

6. PREPARATION

6.1 Fitting the additional handle (Figure 2)
Do not use the angle grinder without the additio-
nal handle (8).
The additional handle (8) can be fitted in three
positions:

Using cutting disks
Simply turn the thread on the additional handle
(8) into the required mounting thread on the tool.
The angle grinder comes with a special handle that
can be adapted to any specific working position. To
fix the additional handle in position, turn the lock nut
(a) all the way on to the additional handle. Then
screw the additional handle fully on to the angle
grinder. Now adjust the handle to the required posi-
tion and fix it in place with the lock nut (a).
Important! The thread on the additional handle has
to be screwed as far as possible into the angle
grinder.
6.2 Setting the guard (Fig. 3/4)
Switch off the tool. Pull the power plug.
Adjust the guard (9) to protect your hands so that
the material being ground is directed away from
your body.
The position of the guard (9) can be adjusted to
any specific working conditions. Undo the clamp
handle (a) and turn the cover (9) into the required
position.

Ensure that the guard (9) correctly covers the
230 V~
gear wheel casing.

Secure the clamp handle (a) again.

Ensure that the guard (9) is secure.

6.3 Inserting the disks (Figures 5/6/7)

Place the inner flange (10) on the spindle (a).
Ensure that it rests on both flat areas.
Now place the grinding disk (b) on the spindle (a)
and the inner flange (10). Ensure that it is correc-
tly positioned.

Now fit the threaded outer flange (11) Ensure
that the flange points in the correct direction to
suit the type of disk you have fitted:
Grinding disks: The higher shaped side of the outer
flange must point towards the grinding disk.
Cutting disks: The flat side of the outer flange must
point away from the cutting disk.
Press the spindle lock (1). Turn the spindle by
