TROUBLESHOOTING
Jumpstart Warning Lights
The iOnBoost is ready to jumpstart when the cables are connected and a steady
green light illuminates on the cable safety block. The following chart displays the
combinations of warning lights that occur when the iOnBoost fails to display the
ready light:
Warning lights Type of warning
Flashing red No vehicle battery detected
and green
Cables are not making a
lights
good connection
Vehicle battery voltage too
high for jumpstarting
Solid red and 30-second timer has
green lights expired; the smart cable has
shut down
Solid red light iOnBoost charge is too low
for jumpstarting

Flashing red Short-circuit or reverse
light with alarm polarity

Over heating
Flashing red Reverse charge
and green with
alarm

Solution
Check cable connection.
Check terminals for corrosion.
Make sure the iOnBoost is fully charged.
Check with a mechanic for other starting
related issues.
Disconnect cables from both the battery
and the iOnBoost and follow connection
procedure again.
The iOnBoost needs to be recharged.
Disconnect immediately and follow proper
connection procedure again.
Disconnect and allow unit to cool for 10
minutes.
Disconnect the iOnBoost from the vehicle
battery immediately.
