Remove from below the vehicle any protective sealant from the points of contact between the shell and the tow bar; then paint the
parts with rust preventer.
1. From inside the luggage compartment lift its bottom and the lower part of the right and left insides of the cladding.
2. From underneath the vehicle drill the luggage compartment's bottom with a bit of Ø11 mm with reference to the existing
holes "2" and "3" placed on the spars.
3. Widen with a bit of Ø18 mm the existing holes on the spars. (PAY ATTENTION TO THE FUEL TUBE!).
4. Place the backplates "A" with reference to holes "02" in support of the inner sides of the luggage compartment.
5. In reference to holes "1" use a bit of Ø11 mm to drill the spar (PAY ATTENTION TO THE DAMPERS!).
6. Remove the backplates "A".
7. Only inside the luggage compartment widen with a bit of Ø18 mm the holes just bored.
8. From inside the luggage compartment insert the sparers in hole "1" lay the backplates "A" and insert screws "1", "2" and "3"
interjecting in hole "3" the wide washers.
9. From underneath the vehicle insert the sparers in the widen holes "2" and "3" and place the tie beams "B" paying attention
that they do not touch the damper's springs and then fix.
10. Interject the cross bar "C" between the two tie beams with reference to holes "4" and "5" and then fix.
11. Tighten all bolts and nuts with a tightening torque as shown in the enclosed layout.
12. Connect the wiring to the socket (usually given apart), following the car booklet's instructions "use and maintenance" as
shown in the enclosed wiring kit layout.
13. Reassemble the right and left insides and the bottom of the inner cladding of the luggage compartment.
• Make sure that the tow bar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation. Verify also that the vehicle's towing
disposal quoted on the car registration is mentioned on the tow bar document. Otherwise ask for the appropriate office
(umbrarimorchi@umbrarimorchi.it) for explanations or updated documents.
• For safety, all work involving tow bar installation must be undertaken by skilled technicians.
• Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer's spares parts by qualified staff.
• It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to the tow bar.
• The tow ball must be kept clean and lubricated. For added safety, his diameter (50 mm) must be checked at regular
intervals. If the tow ball measures less than 49 mm after selected readings across the diameter, the tow ball must be
replaced with a new one.
• After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with the table.
