3 Safety instructions

3.4 Concerning the provided battery pack

Danger of injury and explosion due to improp-
er handling of the battery pack.
If the battery pack must be replaced, con-
tact a specialist dealer or Royal Appliance
Customer Services. Never replace the battery
pack yourself. Do not replace the battery pack
with other rechargeable batteries or batteries.
Before removing the battery pack, ensure
that the AC adapter has been removed from
the socket.
Never short-circuit the battery pack, i.e.
never touch both poles simultaneously, espe-
cially with metal objects.

3.5 Concerning appropriate use

This appliance may only be used in the
household. The best cleaning result is
achieved in small or enclosed rooms. The ap-
pliance is not suitable for commercial use.
The appliance must only be used for
cleaning on level, hard floors with normal ac-
cumulation of dirt or dust. If the round brooms
are not mounted it can also be used on short
pile carpet.
Any other use is considered inappropriate
and is prohibited.
It is especially forbidden:
- To use, store or charge the appliance
outdoors.
- To put objects on the appliance.
- To modify or repair the appliance or the
AC adapter yourself.
- To insert objects, other than the objects
described in this manual, into the open-
ings of the appliance.
- To use the appliance near explosive or
highly-flammable substances.
Never take the battery pack apart, and
never expose it to high temperatures.
Improper handling can lead to liquid leak-
ing from the battery pack. Avoid any contact
with the liquid.
Only use the AC adapter supplied with the
appliance to charge the battery pack. Never
charge the battery pack with a different AC
adapter. Only use the provided AC adapter to
charge the battery pack of this appliance.
After its service life, dispose of the battery
pack in an environmentally responsible man-
ner, as described, ZChapter 9.4, 'Removing
the battery pack'.
It is also forbidden to vacuum:
- Persons, animals, plants, especially
hair, fingers and other parts of the body
as well as pieces of clothing worn on the
body. They could be sucked in and
cause injuries.
- Water and other liquids. Moisture inside
the appliance can cause a short-circuit.
- Toner (for laser printers, copying ma-
chines, etc.). There is a risk of explo-
sion.
- Hot ash, burning cigarettes or matches.
This could cause a fire.
- Pointed objects, such as glass shards,
nails, etc. The appliance or substrate
could be damaged.
- Construction rubble, plaster, cement,
fine drilling-dust, makeup, etc. The ap-
pliance could be damaged.
Also prohibited is use ...
- ... on long pile carpet.
- ... on wet floors.
- ... without the filter, dust container and
cover being correctly inserted.
