If the unit is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the environment.

3 Applications

The light effect unit SCAN-22LED is ideally suited for
applications on stage and in discotheques. It is able to
project various colour patterns. Its light source is a
super bright white LED (10 W) with a low power con-
sumption and a long life.
The patterns and the mirror movements are con-
trolled via the integrated microphone, via the cable
remote controller LC-3 or the wireless remote controller
LC-9RTX (both available as separate accessories) or
with a DMX controller via five DMX control channels.
4 Installation
Always position the unit in such a way that a sufficient
air circulation is ensured during operation. Never cover
the air vents of the housing or the heat sink (13), e. g.
by curtains.
1) Fasten the light effect unit to a suitable place via its
mounting bracket (2), e. g. on a cross bar or a light-
ing stand.
WARNING Install the unit safely and expertly. If
it is installed at a place where people
may walk or sit under it, additionally
secure it (e. g. via a safety rope on
the mounting bracket; fasten the
safety rope in such a way that the maximum falling
distance of the unit will not exceed 20 cm).
2) To align the unit, release the locking screws (1).
Adjust the desired inclination of the unit, and then
retighten the screws.

5 Setting the Unit into Operation

WARNING Never look directly into the light beam;
this may cause eye damage.
Please note that fast changes in light-
ing, e. g. flashing light, may trigger
epileptic seizures with photosensitive
persons or persons with epilepsy!
Connect the mains cable provided to a mains jack (10)
first, and then connect it to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
During the starting phase, the mirror will make refer-
ence movements for a few seconds. Then the unit is
ready for operation; it can be controlled via a DMX light
controller (
chapter 7) or automatically changes the
light patterns in the master mode (
switch off, disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
For a more convenient operation, it is recom-
mended to connect the unit to a mains socket to be
switched on and off via a light switch.
Caution: Do not connect the unit to the mains voltage
via a dimmer!

6 Operation without DMX Controller

Use the DIP switches (4) to set the unit to the master
mode: Set the switch No. 1 to "ON" and the switches
2 – 9 to the off position (the position of switch No. 10 is
irrelevant in this case):

When music is played at a sufficient volume with a
clear rhythm in the bass range, the changes of colour
patterns (gobos) and the mirror movements are syn-
chronized to the beat of the music via the integrated
microphone. The green LED (5) flickers to the beat of
the music. When no music is played or when the music
is too calm or its volume is too low, the unit changes
the patterns at fixed intervals only and the green LED
lights permanently.
ume of the music or the distance between the sound
source and the light effect unit.
Note: For music control via the microphone, there
must be no DMX signal at the DMX input (11).
6.1 Interconnecting several SCAN-22LED units
Several units of the version SCAN-22LED can be inter-
connected. Thus, the master unit is able to synchro-
nize all slave units.
1) Interconnect the units like for the DMX mode
2) On the master unit, set the DIP switches No. 1 – 9
3) Set the DIP switches No. 1 – 9 on the slave units dif-

The position of the individual switches is irrelevant
in this case. DIP switch No. 10 has a special func-
tion: In the position "ON", the movements of the cor-
responding scanner are inverted, i. e. its mirror does
not move in the same direction as the mirror of the
master unit, but opposite to it.
