4. CHAPTER 4
4.1.

INSTALLATION

In order to mount the motoreducer on LIVI horizontally pivoted doors, the doors must be prepared directly on the
installation site. The installer should therefore have the necessary equipment to complete the job adequately.
The shaft axle of the LIVI motoreducer must be placed 100 mm away from the fulcrum of the horizontally pivoted door (Fig.
10).
Prepare the necessary beams and stirrups in the most appropriate way.
4.2.

MOUNTING OPERATIONS

Pierce and fix the shaft support with two screws following the measurement in Fig 10 - pos. a.
Engage the bushing in the motoreducer shaft. Insert the transmission shaft in the shaft support bracket.
Position the motoreducer on the horizontally pivoted door and align the shaft (Fig. 11). Trace its position and drill the
holes needed to fix it.
Fix the motoreducer in position.
Mount the transmission shaft and cut off the parts in excess (Fig. 11).
Weld the entire perimeter of the reaction plaque "A" of the telescopic arm onto the casing of the horizontally pivoted
door (fig. 12). It is recommended to dismount the hollow arm before welding to prevent damage caused by welding.
Weld the transmission shaft onto the solid part of the telescopic arm. The welding must be made on the entire shaft
perimeter (Fig. 11 - pos. b).
Cut the solid arm to the length shown in Fig. 13.
Mount the hollow arm onto the reaction plaque and cut to the length shown in Fig. 14.
Dismount the hollow arm, insert it in the solid arm, and manually rotate the transmission shaft until the hollow arm can
be remounted onto the reaction plaque.
Make sure all the components have been fixed perfectly.
To improve door operation, increase the counterweights of the horizontally pivoted doors by 3 kg on each side.
WARNING
Check the strength of the part onto which the reaction plaque is to be welded and if necessary
reinforce by welding an adequately sized reinforcement. While welding the reaction plaque and the
driving shaft, protect the motoreducer and other accessories with a piece of cloth, since even a drop of
melted metal could cause irreparable damage.
4.3.

ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS

Strictly follow the instructions that accompany the equipment that is to be automatically controlled.
After making the connections, make sure that all components work properly.
WARNING
Electronic equipment must be installed with electric or electronic power control.
Protect the equipment with a magnetothermic switch.
An earth connection is compulsory.
4.4.

DOORSTOP KIT

The doorstop kit art. 960F, which is optional, is installed on the output shaft of the LIVI motoreducer, as illustrated in Fig.
15. The kit controls the closing and opening points of the door without any overload of mechanical parts.
Doorstop adjustment for opening and closing:
Open the door completely.
Unscrew screw B and move the green cam A in the direction of the arrow until it presses on the microswitch M. Block
screw B.
Close the door completely.
Unscrew the screw D and move the red cam C in the direction of the arrow until it presses on the microswitch N. Block
screw D.
Make sure the door stops at the right points. If not, correct the cam position as described and as shown by the arrows
in Fig. 15.
4.5.

OPENING THE DOOR IN THE EVENT OF A POWER FAILURE

All models are provided with a special lever that allows the horizontally pivoted door to open in the event of a power failure.
Turn the lever "L" by 90° to activate door unlock (Fig. 16).
To restore automatic operation bring the lever back to its initial position.
