medi Shoulder sling

Intended purpose

The medi Shoulder sling is a shoulder joint support. The product is
exclusively to be used for the orthotic fitting of the shoulder and only
on intact skin or any wounds have been properly covered.
Indications
Post-intervention treatment and immobilization

Contraindications

None known at present.

Fitting instructions

Put on the shoulder straps, in the position shown in Figure 1.
Slip the forearm into the corresponding pocket, pass the
straps A and B under the pocket and, cross over and fasten.
Wrap the chest strap round the trunk, enclosing the affected arm and
immobilizing the shoulder.
Instructions for putting on the sling
• Undo the hook-and-loop fastener
• Place the arm with the injured shoulder in the bag. (picture 1)
• Place the two shoulder straps crosswise across your upper body and
place them over the shoulders. (picture 2)
• Take one of the two strap ends and attach it onto the bag at the front.
(picture 3)
• Do the same with the second strap.
• If necessary, or to attach it more firmly (especially at night), you can
also use the wide strap. Attach it to the back of the bag (at the elbow)
and wrap it around the stomach, then around the back. Your hand
should be left free to move. (picture 5).
