Troubleshooting
This section provides basic troubleshooting information. Specific causes to problems are best identified by thorough inspections performed by personnel
instructed in safety, operation and maintenance of this equipment. The chart below provides a brief guide to common hoist and trolley symptoms, prob-
able causes and remedies.
Symptom
Hoist will not operate
Load continues to move when hoist is
stopped. UP direction.
Load continues to move when hoist is
stopped. DOWN direction.
Hoist will not lift rated capacity.
Cause
No air supply to hoist or pressure too low.
Pendant lever sticking
Pendant malfunction
Hoist is overloaded.
Motor is damaged.
Limit switch sticking.
Brake is not releasing.
Pendant lever sticking.
Pendant lever sticking.
Hoist is overloaded.
Brake is slipping.
No air supply to hoist or pressure too low.
Brake is not releasing.
Exhaust is restricted.
Motor is damaged.
Hoist is overloaded.
Remedy
Check pressure at hoist inlet.
See also page 8, item 4.4 Air pressure connections.
Check pendant lever and restore free movement.
Check pressure at pendant.
Minimum operating pressure in pendant line is 5 bar.
Reduce load to within rated capacity.
Repair or replace. Refer to the maintenance instructions,
"Disassembly of the motor".
Check limit switch button moves freely.
Clean and lubricate if sticking.
Check brake release circuit and pressure at the brake inlet. Minimum
operating pressure is 5 bar.
Check lever and restore free movement.
Check lever and restore free movement.
Reduce load to within rated capacity.
Check brake springs and brake disc linings for wear.
Refer to the maintenance instructions, "Disassembly of the brake".
Check pressure at hoist inlet.

Check brake release circuit and pressure at the brake inlet. Minimum

Inspect vents and clean or replace muffling material.
Check motor bearing and wear of vanes.
Reduce load to within rated capacity.
