❐ Maintain a suffi cient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not to
damage the appliance.
❐ Bread and rolls can catch on fi re during roasting. For this reason, do not place the appli-
ance in the vicinity of or under fl ammable objects, like curtains.
❐ The appliance should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing con-
tacts. The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must
correspond with the technical data of the appliance (see section "Technical Data"). You
still need an extension cable whose technical data corresponds with that of the appliance
(see section "Technical Data").
❐ Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may become
caught and pull the appliance down.
❐ Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.

Use

❐ Always check the appliance for damage before putting it into operation. If the appliance,
lead or plug shows visible signs of damage, the appliance must not be used. Do not use
the appliance if it has malfunctioned or been dropped.
❐ If the appliance is broken, do not attempt to repair it yourself. In the event of damage,
please contact our Customer Service department.
❐ Always switch off the appliance using the Off button (0) fi rst before removing the mains
plug from the mains socket.
❐ Remove the mains plug from the mains socket,
– if you do not use the appliance for a longer period of time
– if a fault occurs while the appliance is in operation
– when you remove the crumb tray
– before a thunderstorm
– before you clean it.
❐ When you want to remove the mains plug from the socket, always pull the plug and not
the cable.
❐ Never carry the appliance by the mains cable or mains plug.
❐ Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids! Ensure that the appliance, cable
or mains plug do not fall into water or become wet. Should the appliance fall into water,
switch off the power supply immediately.
❐ Never touch the appliance, cable or plug with wet hands.
❐ Do not use any other accessories.
❐ Do not let the appliance run without supervision.
❐ Do not drop the appliance or allow it to be knocked violently.
❐ Never handle the appliance using knives, forks, or other metallic objects.
❐ Do not let clothing like scarves, ties, and long hair hang into or over the appliance.
❐ Only use suitable baked goods that have not exceeded the best-buy date!
