TROUBLE SHOOTING
CAUSE
Loose wire.
Broken or damaged cord.
Bad handle switch.
DS - Worn Carbon Brushes
Loose wires.
Broken or damaged cord.

Shortened windings
SS - Blown capacitor.
SS - Burned stationary switch.
DS - Worn Carbon Brushes
DS - Bad speed control
DS - Bad rectifier
SS - Bad Capacitor.
SS - Motor stuck in start winding.
DS - Loose wire.
DS - Bad speed switch
DS - Bad speed control
Broken flex coupling in Gearbox.
Excessive load on circuit.
Pad / brush over loaded.
Under sized extension cord.
Improper use.
Warped / damaged pad driver / brush. Replace pad driver / brush.
Pad not centered.
Worn motor bearings.
Wheels loose on axle.
SOLUTION
Check all wire connections.
Replace cord.
Test continuity - replace.
Replace Carbon Brushes
Check all wire connections.
Replace cord.
Test continuity – replace.
Replace stator with frame.
Replace capacitor.
Replace stationary switch.
Replace Carbon Brushes
Test continuity - replace.
Test continuity - replace.
Check capacitor.

Check total load on circuit.
