Safety instructions for installation, maintenance and operation
Important notes for the system plumber
Malfunction
Note pressure above measuring
range pump pressure
(When 8.5 bar / 0.85 MPa is exceeded
in the pipe system downstream of the
FK-5 Safety isolation station)
Temperature exceedance of the
pump during drawing of minimal
amounts
(Pump over temperature protection.
Over temperature during minimum
water consumption.)
Temperature exceedance of the
pump during leaks
(In the pipe system, at the draw-off
point)
Medium: Water
Max. ambient temperature 39°C,
Min. ambient temperature 2°C,
Max. temperature of the inflowing medium 35 °C,
Min. temperature of the inflowing medium 1 °C,
Minimum flow pressure DN 20 = 1 bar / 0.1 MPa,
Minimum flow pressure DN 25 = 1.5 bar / 0.15 MPa,
Max. flow pressure DN 20 / 25 4.0 bar / 0.4 MPa,
pressure stage PN 10,
Outlet pump pressure
DN 20: 4.3 bar / 0.43 MPa
DN 25: 5.9 bar / 0.50 MPa
DU value:
DN 20: 0.83 l/s
DN 25: 1.67 l/s
Flush volume of PWC line 10 l/min (at 3 bar)
1. Only use the device
- in sound condition
- as intended
2. Parallel installation of two or more Break Tank
Stations is not permitted.
3. It is essential the specified maintenance
intervals are kept.
Effects on operation of FK-5
Causes of malfunctions
- Due to warming of downstream line
(e.g. solar radiation on to the line to the
draw-off point)
- Pressure increase caused by
process pressures
(A connected device or a machine
downstream of the FK-5 Safety isolation
station creates high pressure that
pressurises the FK-5 Safety isolation
station's discharge)
- Through minimal dripping, permanent
(e.g. in the case of drip irrigation or
animal feeds)
- Leaks or apparatus with a leaking
shut-off element
(e.g. washing equipment or sprinkling
systems with valve technology that does
not close 100%)
Warning! Following the installation, addition of
accessories or maintenance, all feed lines must be
flushed according to DIN EN 806-5 and VDI/DVGW
(Association of German Engineers/German associa-
tion for gas and water) 6023.
Liability
No warranty or liability for:
- Non-compliance with the instructions.
- Incorrect installation and/or operation.
- Unauthorised modification of the product.
- Other incorrect operation.
Disposal

Required
Use of a safety valve 8 bar /
0.8 MPa or an expansion
vessel according to DIN EN
12828
Use an expansion
vessel PN10 for service,
process water and fire
extinguishing systems
between the FK-5 Safety
isolation station's discharge
and the draw-off point.
Warning! Any water withdrawn must
under no circumstances be used as
drinking water - even in small amounts!
Local regulations on waste recycling and
disposal must be followed.
The product must not be disposed of
with household waste but must rather be
disposed of appropriately.
