place any objects on top of it whilst storing.
• This electric blanket is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with restricted physical,
sensory or mental capabilities and/or by persons
lacking the required understanding of the equipment
and how it is used, unless they are supervised by a
person who is responsible for their safety.
• This electric blanket should not be used with persons
who are helpless, small children or persons insensitive
to heat (e.g. diabetics, persons with skin changes
related to illness or persons with scarred skin in the
area where the pad is to be applied, after taking any
pain-relieving medication or alcohol).
• This appliance may not be used by children unless the
switch has been preset by a parent or a supervisory
person, or the child has been sufficiently instructed in
how to use this electric blanket safely.
• This electric blanket is not intended for use in hospitals.
• Never use the appliance if it is not working properly,
or if it has been damaged. Any intervention other than
cleaning and normal maintenance by the customer
must be carried out by an approved service centre.
• If the appliance is used for other purposes than
intended, or is it not handled in accordance with
the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any
consequences will rest with the user. Any damages
to the product or other things are not covered by the
warranty.

2 | BEFORE FIRST USE

Before you use the underblanket for the first time, please
do as follows: carefully unpack the underblanket and
remove all the packaging material. Keep the material
(plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children.
Check the underblanket after unpacking for any damage,
possible from transportation. Never switch the electric
underblanket on when folded or compressed, wedged
between objects and never make any sharp creases.
Do not place any artificial heatsources or heavy objects
on the electric underblanket.
This electric underblanket is intended for warmings
beds. The electric underblanket heats up best when it is
switched on while it is covered with a quilt. The heating
up time with the electric underblanket covered is approx.
30 minutes.
The electric underblanket can be used on both sides.

3 | SAFETY SYSTEM

This electric underblanket is fitted with the INVENTUM
SAFETY SYSTEM (ISS). This electronic sensor technology
prevents the entire surface of the electric underblanket
from overheating by automatically switching off in the
event of a fault. If the safety system switches off the
electric underblanket automatically as a result of a fault,
the indicator lamp is no longer illuminated even when
the electric underblanket is switched on. Please note that,
after a fault has occurred, the electric underblanket can
no longer be used for safety reasons and must be sent to
the service address indicated.

4 | PLACING THE BLANKET

Spread the electric underblanket flat out on your mattress
so that the cable entrance is located approximately at
shoulder height (see illustration). The electric blanket can
be used on both sides.

Additional information for using model HL197V:
The head area of the underblanket is not heated. Push
the plug of the plug-in connection through the hole in
the side (9) of the blanket and connect the switch with
the blanket by pushing the plug in the connection (8)
(see figure). Then pull the side section over the sides of
your mattress like a contour sheet. The underblanket
is designed to fit mattresses of the size 90x210 cm
and 100x210 cm. Then secure your contour sheet as
accustomed so that the underblanket is between your
mattress and the contour sheet.
Make sure that the underblanket is always spread out flat
and does not get pushed together or wrinkle during use.
Check its position when making the bed. The electric
underblanket may only be switched on when it is spread
out flat.
We recommend switching on the electric underblanket
and covering it with the quilt for approx. 30 minutes
before going to bed to prevent the heat from escaping.
First select the highest temperature setting (level 9). This
produces the fastest warming.

5 | USING THE SWITCH

SWITCHING ON
Slide the on-/ off button (6) on the side of the switch
(1) to position 1 ( I ), to switch the electric blanket on.
The display (2) will light up and show ca. 2 seconds all
functions. After that the display will show the following
basic setting:
Temperature position for the body zone: 0
Temperature position for the feet zone: 0
Automatic shut off: 1h (= 1 hour)
Attention: to ensure that your good night sleep isn't
disturbed the lighted display will dim after ca. 5 seconds.
SWITCHING OFF
Slide the on-/ off button at the side of the switch
to position 0, to switch the electric blanket off. The
illumination and the indications on the display are no
longer on.
