MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Bar with European facing 94/20/EC – A50-1
D 1 Left Hand Spreader Plate
E 1 Right Hand Spreader Plate
F 1 8mm Packer
G 1 Left Hand Corner Strap
H 1 Right Hand Corner Strap
J 4 M10 x 30 x 1.5 Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm O.D.)
K 4 M12 x 50 x 1.75 Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers Flat Washers (30mm O.D.)
L 4 M8 x 30 x 1.25 Bolts, Nut Inserts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm O.D.)
M 1 ZEP35 Electrical plate (not shown)
CB 2 M16 x 40 x 2.0 Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
FITTING
1. Remove spare wheel and trim panels to allow access to boot floor and rear panel, position Spreader Plates (D) and (E) on
boot floor and align hole with dimples (one each side), mark around spreader plates any areas where mastic /
soundproofing are present. Remove Spreader Plates (D) and (E) so that the material can be removed.
2. Realign Spreader Plates (D) and (E) and drill (dia. 12.5mm) through holes for Bolts (K). Position Corner Straps (G) and (H)
on Spreader Plates (D) and (E) and loosely attach using bolts (K), ensuring Corner Straps (G & H) are square with rear
panel mark thru holes for bolts (L). Remove Corner Straps (G & H) and bolts (K) and drill (dia. 12.5mm) at marked
positions, insert Nut Inserts (L) (these should be a tight fit – if not open out tags to prevent them spinning).
3. Lower exhaust rear box and remove the heat shield. Attach Cross Bar (A) and Packer (F) at holes (K) using Bolts (K) with
Straps (G & H) fitted inside with Flat Washers. Loosely secure Corner Straps (G & H) to rear panel using Bolts (L) with Flat
Washers. Drill (dia .11mm) for holes (J) and loosely secure using Bolts (J) with Flat Washers. Fully tighten bolts. Refit
heat shield (this may require trimming) – Sport Models 2005 on – Cut bumper as shown below.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
