IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SERVICE
23. Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service
or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.
24. When servicing a tool, ask that only identical replacement parts be used.
Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance instructions may
create a risk of electric shock or injury.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR JIGSAW

1. PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCKS. When cutting wherever "live" electrical wires
may be encountered, hold the tool only by the plastic handle to prevent electric
shock. DO NOT TOUCH ANY METAL PARTS OF THE TOOL. If you contact a
live wire, the exposed metal of the saw becomes live as well, and can shock the
operator.
2. OBSERVE PRECAUTIONS WITH REGARDS TO LASER. This tool is equipped
with a laser to indicate where the cut line will be. Be sure to read the precautions
for the laser device in this manual, below.
3. DO NOT START THE SAW WITH THE BLADE IN CONTACT WITH ANY
SURFACE. The reciprocating action will cause the saw to bounce violently and
could cause injury.
4. BE SURE THE WORKING AREA IS CLEAR OF ALL OBSTACLES, particularly
on the other side of the material being cut.
5. IF MAKING A CUT USING ONE HAND TO HOLD THE SAW, make sure the free
hand is clear of the cutting area.
6. LET THE SAW COME TO A COMPLETE STOP before putting it down. The
reciprocating action could cause the saw to jerk violently if it contacts anything
with the blade tip.
7. ALWAYS SWITCH TOOL OFF AND WAIT for the blade to come to a complete
stop before any type of adjustment or maintenance.
8. MAKE SURE THE BLADE IS SEATED PROPERLY BEFORE OPERATING.
9. WAIT UNTIL THE BLADE REACHES ITS MAXIMUM SPEED BEFORE
CUTTING.
10. KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM MOVING PARTS.
POWER SUPPLY
WARNING: Your jig saw must be connected to a 120 V, 15-amp circuit. failure to
!
connect in this way can result in injury from shock or fire.
EXTENSION CORDS
The use of any extension cord will cause some loss of power. Use the following chart
to determine the minimum wire gauge (A.W.G-American Wire Gauge) extension cord
needed. Only use polarized extension cords (one prong wider than the other) which
have 2-prong type plugs and 2-hole receptacles which accept the tool's plug.
