6. Place the power enclosure on the caster cart. The caster cart is
shaped to fit securely under the cabinet, so no hardware is
required.

7. Cut the lifting straps or slip them off the cabinet base tabs.
8. Place the UPS near the equipment to be protected. The UPS
should be well ventilated and away from direct sunlight or
other heat source.
The equipment should not be further than 6 ft (1.8m) from the
UPS for equipment connections to the UPS output receptacles.
Longer equipment cords may be available from IBM. Contact
your IBM representative.
9. Lower the four foot levelers on the caster cart and secure the
lock nuts on each leveler to prevent the cart from moving.
10. If you are installing an optional external battery enclosure,
place it next to the UPS [no further than 6 ft (1.8m) for the
battery enclosure cable].
