Mounting the Grinding Tools
Disconnect the mains plug from electric supply.
Grinding and cutting discs become very hot while
working; do not touch until they have cooled.
Clean the grinder spindle and all parts to be
mounted. For clamping and loosening the grinding
tools, lock the grinder spindle 2 with the spindle lock
button 1.
Actuate the spindle lock button 1 only when the
grinder spindle is at a standstill!
Grinding/Cutting Disc
Pay attention to the dimensions of the grinding
disc. The mounting hole diameter must fit the
mounting flange 4 without play. Do not use reduc-
ers or adapters.
When using a diamond cutting disc, take care that
the direction-of-rotation arrow on the diamond cut-
ting disc and the direction of rotation of the machine
(direction-of-rotation arrow on the machine head)
agree. For mounting, see the illustration page.
Screw the clamping nut 6 on to the grinder spindle 2
ensuring that the flat side faces the grinding disc and
tighten the clamping nut with the two-pin spanner
(see Section "Quick Clamping Nut").

If the O-ring is missing or is damaged, it must in all
cases be replaced before the mounting flange 4 is
mounted.
After mounting the grinding tool and before
switching on, check that the grinding tool is cor-
rectly mounted and that it can turn freely.
Approved Grinding Tools
All grinding tools mentioned in these operating
instructions can be used.
Use only grinding tools with a permissible speed at
least as high as the no-load speed of the machine.
Therefore, always observe
rotational/circumferential speed on the label of the
grinding tool.
Observe correct mains voltage: The voltage of the
power source must agree with the voltage specified
on the nameplate of the machine.
When operating the angle grinder from mobile
power generators that do not have sufficient reserve
capacity or suitable voltage control (with starting
current amplification), loss of performance or
untypical behaviour upon switching on can occur.
Please observe the suitability of the power genera-
tor.
To start the machine, press the On /Off switch 8 for-
ward.
To lock-on, press the On/Off switch 8 down at the
front until it engages.
To switch off the machine, release the On /Off
switch 8 or, when the switch is locked, briefly press
down the On/Off switch 8 at the rear.

Exercise caution when cutting slots in structural
walls: See Information on Structures.
Clamp the workpiece if it does not remain station-
ary due to its own weight.
Do not strain the machine so heavily that it comes
to a standstill.
Grinding and cutting discs become very hot while

Pull the plug from the socket-outlet when not
using the machine. With the plug inserted and
mains voltage existing, the power tool still has low
power consumption even when it switched off.
The best roughing
achieved when setting the machine at
an angle of 30° to 40°. Move the
machine back and forth with moder-
ate pressure. In this manner, the
workpiece will not become too hot,
does not discolour and no grooves
are formed.
Never use a cutting disc for roughing.
