Highlights from the A. & J. Stöckli AG company
history
A. & J. Stöckli AG is 100% family owned. Dr. Jean-Fritz Stöckli is currently the fourth-gen-
eration Managing Director. With more than 100 people, the company is a leading employer
in canton Glarus. Stöckli AG is continuously expanding on the market, and is certified to ISO
9001:2000 and ISO 14000:2004
1874: Founded by Alfred Stöckli in Uznach SG as a production shop for household uten-
sils (pan lids, paraffin lamps, ladles, etc.).
1944: After riding out the 1930s slump and Second World War, Stöckli's most successful
products were copper cachepots, Casana air humidifiers, and aluminium sauce-
pans.
1956: Plastics production (injection moulding) added to metalware. Most successful
product: the Stöckli watering can in 8 different sizes.
1963: Market launch of plastic bottle case at the MUBA, Basel (Swiss premiere).
1971: Stöckli invented the raclette oven – starting a boom that still continues thirty
years later.
1982: Market launch of the legendary chestnut oven and the Müllex refuse collection
system.
1984: Market launch of the Stöckli household dehydrator.
1996: ISO 9001 certification. Market launch of the new «Müllex» kitchen refuse
collectors.
1998: 125th jubilee of A. & J. Stöckli AG, stronger than ever.
1998: «Design-Plus» award for the Stöckli cheeseboard grill.
2000: Steady gain of market shares in all four business fields. Approx. 100 employees.
