Stepless adjustment from "Off" (lever down) to "maximum brightness" (lever up).
Adjust the light beam using the pivot joints (5).
Adjust the beam and spot size on the lamp body (6, 7) (depends on the model).
Check the LEDs of the battery status indicator, see section 4.2 "Batteries", page 27.
Risk of injury due to glare!
The LED light source is extremely bright. Its glare effect can lead to temporary loss of visual
acuity and after-images. Depending on the situation, this can be irritating or annoying,
hamper the view or even lead to accidents.
Do not point the headlight directly into the eyes of others.
Under no circumstances hold microscopes or other optical lenses in front of the headlight.
Dim the light intensity using the rheostat as required.
Use the aperture controller (7) of the MedLED Sapphire
aperture.
Do not cover the lamp body (6) while in use (with a cloth or other object), as it can get
very hot.
The battery packs or the console of the 4-chamber charging unit can get very hot while
charging. The lamp body can also get hot while in use. Both is normal and not a
malfunction.
Avoid skin contact with hot areas.
We recommend connecting the headlight to the charging unit while it is not in use.
To disconnect the mains cable, always pull on the plug and not the cable.
If the device is to be stored for more than 2 weeks, remove the batteries and place them
in the original packaging.
When using the lamp in dental medicine: A yellow filter can be used to avoid premature
polymerization of composite material.
