1 Features
The unit TM-5 is a handy, battery-operated mega-
phone. It has an amplifier power of 1.8 W
offers three switchable signal sounds.

1 Talk switch: keep it pressed while talking and for
reproducing the signal sounds
2 Selector switch for activating the signal sounds:
Position F: fog horn
Position W: whistle
Position S: siren
Position M: signal sound off, talking (microphone)

6 Carrying strap

3 Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
CAUTION
Never operate the megaphone close to
anybody's ears; the amplified voice or
howlback may cause hearing damage.
Never put down the unit in humid environments and
protect it against excessive heat (admissible am-
bient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not use the unit in the rain. Make sure that no
liquid will penetrate the unit.
For cleaning only use a soft cloth, dry or slightly
damp; never use chemicals or aggressive deter-
gents.
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly operated,
or not repaired in an expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a
disposal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.

4.1 Inserting batteries

1) According to the arrows in the figure, press the
marking of the battery compartment cover (3) while
simultaneously sliding the cover to the rear so that
it will open downwards. Remove the battery sup-
port.
2) Insert six 1.5 V batteries of size AA into the battery
support. Observe the correct polarity (see imprint in
the battery support). Slide the battery support back
into the battery compartment.
3) Close the battery compartment cover and slide it to
the front so that it will lock into place. If the unit is not
used for a longer period (e. g. more than a week),
the batteries should be removed to prevent damage
to the unit due to battery leakage.
Dead batteries or defective rechargeable bat-
teries do not belong in the household rubbish;
always take them to a special waste disposal
(e. g. collecting container at your retailer).
4.2 Talking
1) Set the selector switch (2) to the position M (micro-
phone).
2) Keep the talk switch (1) pressed while talking into
the microphone (4). Hold the microphone as close
to your mouth as possible.
3) Adjust the desired volume with the control (5). In
case of howlback, turn back the control accordingly.
4.3 Signal sounds
1) Adjust the desired signal sound with the selector
switch (2):
Position F:
fog horn
Position W: whistle
Position S:
siren
2) Keep the talk switch pressed.
3) To switch off the signal sound, release the talk
switch.
