Insert credit card
1. Insert the card into the top centre of the CD / credit card input opening. You can
only cut up one credit card at the time.
2. Please keep your face at an acceptable distance when inserting credit cards
in order to avoid serious injuries. Do not try to insert your fingers into the input
opening, there is a risk of serious injuries.
Insert CDs
1. Insert the CD/ DVD centrally from above into the CD/ DVD input opening. You can
only cut just one CD/ DVD.
2. Do not insert your finger into the central hole of the disc when you insert it
into the device, there is danger of injury!
Protection against paper jams and overloading
OVERHEAT:
The 1501 XCD is equipped with a motor overload guard. The normal work cycle for
the shredding operation takes 2 minutes with a maximum load, after which a
prolonged break must be taken. If the device is used for more than 2 minutes without
interruption the motor will overheat, the device turns off automatically and the
overheat LED glows. Disconnect the main plug from the AC socket in order to avoid
the risk of serious injuries and wait at least 40 minutes until the overload guard has
reset. After cooling down the device is again ready for use.
OVERLOAD:
The 1501 XCD is equipped with an anti-jam protection. If the recommended
maximum capacity of 15 sheets (80g/ m²) is exceeded the automatic overload guard
of the motor is triggered, whereupon the current feed to the device is interrupted and
the overload LED glows. In such a case, please take the following steps:
1. Disconnect the main plug from the AC socket in order to avoid the risk of
serious injuries and wait at least 40 minutes until the overload guard has reset.
Now tear off excess paper from the top of the shredder or remove it.
2. Reconnect the main plug to the AC socket and push the REVERSE button. Pull
the remaining paper away from the shredding blades. Afterwards, push the
FORWARD button. If necessary, repeat this step.
3. With pushing the FORWARD button and the open feed slot, you may now
continue the normal shredding process.
