IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR
FUTURE REFERENCE.
• Before connecting the appliance to a socket
outlet, make sure the voltage indicated
on the appliance corresponds to your local
mains voltage.
• For safety reasons, this class I appliance is
provided with a plug with earth connection.
Always connect this appliance to a mains
socket outlet with a protective earthing
connection.
• This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabili-
ties or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruc-
tion concerning use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children without supervision.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach
of children less than 8 years.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or similarly qualified person in order to
avoid hazard.
• Do not operate the appliance by means of an
external timer or separate remote-control
system.
• The appliance is intended to be used in
household and similar applications such as
staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and oth-
er working environments, farm houses, by
clients in hotels, motels and other residential
type environments, and bed and breakfast
type environments.
CAUTION: Surfaces get hot during
operation.
• The bread may burn. Do not use the toaster
near or below curtains and other flammable
materials or under wall cabinets, as this may
cause fire.
• The appliance is not intended for outdoor
use.

• Frequently remove crumbs from the crumb
tray; make sure to put the crumb tray back in
position correctly.
• Do not insert oversized foods and metal foil
packages into the toaster, as this may cause
fire or electric shock.
• This appliance is only intended for toasting
bread. Do not put any other ingredients in
the appliance, in order to avoid hazardous
situations.
• The warming rack is only intended for warm-
ing up rolls or croissants. Do not put any
other ingredients on the warming rack, in
order to avoid hazardous situations.
• Avoid touching the metal parts of the
toaster, as they become very hot during
operation. Only touch the controls.
• If a slice of bread gets stuck inside the
toaster, unplug the appliance and let it cool
down. Do not use fingers or sharp objects
that can damage the heating elements (e.g.
knife, fork). Use a dull wooden implement to
remove the slice.
• Regularly check if the supply cord, appliance
or extension cable are defective. If found
defective, do not put appliance into opera-
tion. Immediately pull the plug.
• Place the supply cord and, if necessary, an
extension cable in such a way that pulling
or tripping over it is impossible. Do not allow
the supply cord to hang down within easy
reach.
• Never carry or pull the appliance by the
supply cord. Do not pull the supply cord over
sharp edges. Do not jam or bend it.
• Switch the appliance off and disconnect the
plug from the mains when not in use. Excess
cord can be stored under the appropriate
holders on the bottom of the appliance.
• Never pull the plug by the supply cord or with
wet hands. Disconnect the mains plug in
case of faults during use, before cleaning or
moving the appliance, and after use.
