Care instructions for the salt plate:
• Due to natural conditions, there may be variations in the color and structure of the salt stone. This is
not a defect nor does it adversely affect function. On the contrary, this emphasizes the fact that the
salt stone is a natural product and that therefore no two salt stones are the same.
• To ensure that your new items brings many years of enjoyment, please follow these care
instructions thoroughly.
• Because this salt stone is a natural product, it can have internal stresses. These could lead to
cracks if the temperature is changed too quickly or even breakage of the salt stone. This can be
largely avoided by observing the following one-time procedure. This will increase the stability of the
salt stone and „relieve" the internal stresses. Nonetheless, small cracks can appear in the salt stone
during later use, which do not have an adverse effect on the function. Salt stones with small cracks
are therefore excluded from the warranty and from replacement. During this process, and after a

Next, clean the cold salt stone in lukewarm running water.

Set the salt stone to dry in a vertical position.

Your salt stone is now ready for further use.

Salt is a natural product. Small cracks can appear during use, or sometimes are already

present upon purchase. This is entirely normal. Residues from the manufacturing process
will burn off. Some smoke and smell may be detectable – just ventilate! Product with wooden
saucer: The metal inlay acts as heat protection between the wood and the salt stone.
Wooden underplate: The wooden underplate may become discoloured as a result of heating.
Cleaning:
Only wash the salt stone under cool, running water with a cloth or a soft sponge. For resilient stains,
a wire brush can also be used. Do NOT use washing-up liquid. Do not leave the salt stone or the
underplate in standing water. Do not wash the salt plate or underplate in a dishwasher under any
circumstances. Product with wooden saucer: Only clean the wooden underplate with a soft, damp
towel. Additional hints: The salt stone is a natural product and will decrease in size during use.
As soon as the stone is too thin to use for cooking or cooling, it can be broken up and used as seasoning.
