User manual for Petromax Cast-Iron Saucepan
Thank you for choosing the Petromax Cast-Iron Saucepan! With your new cooking pot you can roast
or braise food over open fire or in the home kitchen. When doing so, you will benefit from the unique
properties of the high-quality cast iron. We are convinced that you will be pleased with your Petromax
Saucepan and hope that every dish prepared will be a special experience.
Important information
Read the following instructions carefully before using the Saucepan for the first time. Pay
particular attention to the safety instructions. Keep this user manual in a safe place and pass
it on to any subsequent owner.

Product description

You can use the Cast-Iron Saucepan with plane bottom surface on all types of stoves, in the oven as well
as outdoors over open fire and on the grill. The specially designed lid helps you prepare particularly
juicy meals: Due to the curvature and the aroma moulding on the inside, food liquids are preserved
perfectly. The Saucepan with lid is available in two sizes (filling volume kr1: 1 L | kr2: 2 L). Thanks to the
excellent heat distribution and storage as well as the pre-treated surface (seasoned finish), Petromax
cast iron is immediately ready for use and easy to maintain.

Safety instructions

• Caution! The Saucepan and all its parts (including long handle, lid and handle) become very hot
when in use. Therefore, never leave children or animals unattended near the pot. Only handle the
Saucepan and its parts with heat-resistant gloves or potholders or use a suitable lid lifter.
• Do not pour cold liquids (e. g. water) onto the Cast-Iron Saucepan when it is still hot. The material
may crack or otherwise be damaged in the process.
• Never use dishwashing liquid or soap to clean the Saucepan, only use clear water and a soft sponge,
for example.
• Do not drop the Saucepan. Cast iron is a brittle material that can crack.

Before the first use

Before using your Saucepan for the first time, clean it thoroughly with hot water and dry well. Thanks
to the pre-treated surface, you can use your robust Petromax Cast-Iron Saucepan immediately after
rinsing, no initial seasoning is necessary. Do not prepare acidic food in the Saucepan the first few times
of use as this can damage the patina (natural protective layer on the surface).
