1. Important Safety Information

To reduce the risk of injury or death from fire or
electric shock, or property damage from frozen pipes,
follow all instructions in this manual.
Before installation, check:
• Purpose and location - Make sure your intended
use and installation location is appropriate for heating
cable (see Pipe and Location Requirements, p. 4).
• Cable model matches pipe size - Make sure you
have the correct model(s) of heating cable(s) for
the length of pipe to be protected (see Selecting the
Correct Cable Model(s), p. 4).
• GFCI and electrical system - Make sure you have a
GFCI receptacle or GFCI portable cord and that you
follow all other electrical requirements (see Electrical
Requirements, p. 4).
• Materials - Make sure you have the right installation
materials (see Materials Needed for Installation,
p. 7).

• Instructions - Read all instructions before you begin.
After installation:
• Monitor the cable - Maintain the cable and perform
pre-season and monthly checks (see Use &
Maintenance of the Cable, p. 11).
